The GPS-based navigation tool with multi-band GNSS provides reliable and accurate information on the direction and position of the ship

Garmin presents the MSC 10 satellite nautical compass with multi-band GNSS and a fully integrated direction and direction reference system to obtain an accurate direction and position in the water.

In the words of Salvador Alcover, general director of Garmin Iberia, "After launching a nautical positioning receiver and a multi-band GNSS antenna, we now take one more step with the MSC 10 satellite compass, an advanced navigation tool, with which, even in situations where magnetic interference occurs, you can follow your course."

With its compatibility with multiple satellite navigation systems (GPS, Galileo (1), GLONASS and BeiDou (1)) and using the GPS frequencies L1 and L5, the MSC 10 compas provides precise positioning (2). In addition, its 10 Hz position update rate provides more detailed and accurate tracking information. For greater reliability, MSC 10 uses satellite signals that eliminate magnetic interference that can degrade course accuracy.

The compass is easy to install and can be used as the main position and direction sensor in multiple systems, including automatic pilots. In addition to the course, MSC 10 also directly sends reliable and accurate information about the header, swing and height variation to a compatible Garmin plotter via the NMEA 2000 ® network. If the satellite signal is lost, MSC 10 will pass smoothly from one GPS-based course to another magnetometer-based (3).

With NMEA 2000 certification, MSC 10 is compatible with a wide range of Garmin chartplotters, including the GPSMAP ® 8400 / 8600 series, the new GPSMAP 7 × 3 / 9 × 3 / 12 × 3 series and the GPSMAP 10 × 2 / 12 × 2 series. With this launch, Garmin remains committed to the development of the most sophisticated nautical electronics and consolidates its recent recognition as Manufacturer of the Year by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA).
