On the XXVIII Memorial of May 10, the Nautical Club of Santa Pola has hosted 90 regatists from 10 nautical clubs in the Valencia Community this weekend to award the best of the Optimist class in its Sub16 and Sub13 categories. A south wind that ranged around 10 knots has allowed the young fleet to complete the 6 sleeves of the Autonomical Championship.
Pedro Adam, from the Nautical Club of Santa Pola, takes the autonomous title of Optimist in the Sub16 category thanks to two first, a third, a fourth and a fifth. Below, with a second place, one of the Spanish representatives to the European Optimist Championship, Carlos Espí, with a total of 14 points and, on his heels, Fernando Puig with just one more point takes the bronze for the Royal Nautical Club of Denia. This same podium is maintained for absolute male classification and for Sub16. In addition, the Ruíz family has awarded the autonomous champion, Peter Adam, with the trophy of the carabela.
At the head of the 62-point female classification is Blanca Ferrando, another of the Spanish representatives for the European Optimist Championship that also leads the Sub13 female classification. In a second absolute position with 70 points Lucy Crosbie of the Nautical Club of Jávea and in a third place, with a total of 76 points, Irene de Tomás of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia.
The young man from the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, Carlos Sánchez, has obtained gold in the male Sub13 category by adding 36 points after completing the 6 magas and applying the discards. In a second place is Miguel Gómez, followed by his partner from the Real Club Nautico de Torrevieja, Leo Griñán.
The young woman of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, Blanca Ferrando, continues to fill her palmarés with the female victory in Sub13. In a second place is Vivienne Alonso, from the Nautical Club of Jávea, and the bronze stays in the santapolero club with María Fenoll.
