The Majorcan Neus Ballester and Andrea Perelló (CN Ràpita / CN Arenal) have taken the Spanish Cup of 420 in absolute female category and sub19 female, which has ended today in the waters of the Nàutic Club El Balís, thus adding their first doubling of the season after having won the Spanish Championship in Santander last April. In male sub19, the winners were also Baleares Ian Walker and Finn Dicke (Arenal CN) and in male sub17 Marc Mesquida and Ramon Jaume (Arenal CN) and in female Maria Perelló and Marta Cardona (Arenal CN). In mixed category the triumph has been for the Canaries Gabriela Lodos / Tomás Bello (RCN Gran Canaria).

Ballester and Perelló, who began to compete together in 2018 after the end of their phase in Optimist, continue to be successful, among which a World Cup and a women's sub-17 European in 2019 already stand out. Their aim this season is to try to win everything and they already have in mind both the World Cup and the European class 420 that will be held in summer both in Italy.

The baleares reached the last day leaders with an income of 16 points on the second classified. This Sunday was scheduled for two tests, in the first day they made an off-line with black flag, followed leaders; but if there was a second manga they could be complicated by the absolute title. Finally, only one sleeve, the eighth of the global, could be played with 7.5 knots, making the title his.

The brothers David and Alex Charles (CN El Balís) were the ones who contested the championship until the last moment, entered seconds in the last manga - won by the brothers Fernando and Carlos Flethes (CN Puerto Sherry) -, which assured them the second place in the absolute general and the title of absolute male champions. The third position was also for the local crew of Sebastián Riquelme and Miquel Pérez (CN El Balís), who after performing a room in the last manga, would finish male absolute subchampions and close the podium the baleares Ian Walker and Finn Dicke.

Complex and complete day at the 420 Spanish Cup, which is held at the Nàutic El Balís Club, due to the weather conditions of rain and without wind in the morning, but which were successfully resolved in the afternoon where three tests could be held. The Neus Ballester and Andrea Perelló (CN Arenal) baleares ended the day by strengthening their leadership in the absence of a day, with an income of 14 points on the Catalans David and Alex Charles, seconds and 16 on the also Mallorquins Ian Walker and Finn Dick (CN Arenal) who are third.

The wind, although softly between 6 and 7 knots, entered the first hour of the afternoon, and after several hours of deferral on the ground, the Regatas Committee sent the fleet into the water. The wind was blowing from the south-west rather roll, so the first sleeve of the day - the fifth of the world - was not easy for the participants and after several general calls the Committee raised a black flag, so ten crews would be disqualified from leaving the line prematurely, including that of the Charles brothers who temporarily lost their podium position. In the end he would win that of the baleares Marc Mesquida and Ramon Jaume (CN Arenal), followed by that of the brothers Fernando and Carlos Flethes (CN Puerto Sherry), which with this result were placed in podium positions, and third would be the Majorcan Laura and Catalina Homar (CN Arenal). Ballester and Perelló entered the top ten but maintained the general's leadership.

In the second manga of the day, with a somewhat more stable wind that rose to 10-11 knots, Ballester and Perelló again dominated and gained thus consolidating themselves at the front of the table, although the Andalusian Flethes did not lose sight of them entering fourth position. In this second test were the Gallegos Bruno Ameneiro and Pablo Lorenzo (RCN Sanxenxo) and third the Baleares Walker and Dicke.

The third and final test was also to be decisive, as the podium posts varied, except for the leadership of Ballester and Perelló, which followed with their regularity with a fifth as a partial and tying the first place in the absence of the two tests planned for Sunday. The Charles brothers won the manga, thus recovering all the land lost with the BDF in the first test of the day. Seconds were Mesquida and Jaume and third were the Canaries Andrea Pérez and Ana Bautista (RCN Gran Canaria).

This Sunday, the third and last day of the 420 Spanish Cup are planned two more tests, that if it were to be held the calendar of 9 sleeves would be completed.
