Anavre exposes his view to the nautical activity, of exhibitions, this very atypical season

Anavre, you have sent us this statement, which we reproduce in its entirety and in its entirety. Every one of them remains to be interpreted. The drafting of DIGITAL NAUTICA.

In the face of the controversy arising from the change of dates of the Salon Nautico de Palma "Palma Boatshow 2021," from Anavre, Association of Recreo Navigators, we want to express the following:

1, - Anavre considers that the celebration of nautical lounges is not only an opportunity for users to meet with the entrepreneurs of the nautical sector and to be informed about their products and developments, but also to be articulated as events promoting the tourist, promotional and business activity of the enclave in which they take place. We will therefore always support the realization of such events.

2, - In the case of Palma Boatshow 2021, however, we cannot support its celebration on the dates announced for the following reasons:

♪ The decision has been made unilaterally without consulting the Harbour Authority of the Balearic Islands or the dealers of Marina Moll Vell and Marina La Lonja Charter, who in December 2020 had been told that the event, if held, would take place from April 27 to May 1, so that they could prepare their agendas and organize the eviction of the facilities.

♪ Contrary to what is said by the IDI manager, not only two companies are affected, but a total of eighteen, the two dealers plus the 16 charter companies operating in Marina La Lonja, with a volume of more than 100 charter vessels fixed and more than two hundred workers.

♪ The short term with which the change of dates has been announced will necessarily cause the dispersion of the fleets of these companies in various ports, with an average cost of €2,000 per company and day of travel, given the time required for the assembly and disassembly of the Nautical Hall, we are talking about a total of approximately 20 days. We believe that, after a year of almost no billing, charter companies need the unconditional support of the administration, not to be hindered, and this is because they are not only an important source of income for the islands, but also an effective means of socializing the nautical that allows users to access not only different models of ships, but also to practice their hobby in different locations in a safe way on ships that meet all the conditions and requirements legally required.

♪ Not to mention the condition that the shipowners and crews of the Marina Moll Vell-based recreational boats may suffer, this dispersion of charter fleets will affect approximately 2,000 sailors who planned to board or land in Marina La Lonja during those dates. These users now do not know what their point of embarkation or landing will be since, first of all, the celebration of the Nautical Hall is not yet 100% decided, nor do charter companies know where their fleets will be at that time.

♪ All of the above will, of course, result in a worse quality of the service received by the navigators, as the charter companies will inevitably have to disperse their personnel and fleets, so that the shipping and landing procedures will slow down, while at the same time complicating the logistics of purchase of supplies, transport to the place of boarding or from the place of boarding to the airport, etc....

♪ The forecast of a total capacity of 1,500 people in the Nautical Hall facilities is an effective capacity of about 500 people, since the personnel of the exhibitors, organization, services and security around 1,000 people, we wonder if this justifies the damage that will be caused to 18 companies, their workers and about 2,000 sailors who have already paid for their charters with boarding and landing in Marina La Lonja.

* In addition, according to the information available to us, the decision to hold the hall is not yet firm given the situation generated by the pandemic and, despite the fact that the IDI and its officials have stated that the reasons given by the dealers and charter companies concerned are understood, it has also been stated that the final decision will be based on political criteria.

Having been aware that the IDI has rejected a location within the same port of Palma on the West Dock, we reiterate that we cannot support the change of dates and we announce our presence in the Virtual Salon "Balearic Yacht Show 2021" and that, by saving these inconveniences, we are and will always be in favour of the celebration of present nautical lounges.
