2021 / 04 / 25: Dutch continue to dominate a RS: X World that suffers the withdrawal of Manchon

Los holandeses Badloe y De Geus siguen arriba tras la segunda jornada, en la que el campeonato despide a su favorita Blanca Manchón.

The Dutch Badloe and De Geus are still up after the second day, when the championship fired their favorite White Manchón.

The Dutch flag continues to roar strongly in the bay of Cadiz after the second day of the RS World Championship: X 'Golden Gots'. Its top exponents and advocates of the world titles, Kiran Badloe and Lilian De Geus, hold up the leadership one day after three new tests today disputed under the winds of the SE between 9 and 14 knots of intensity with the maximum streak in 18 knots and a lot of deep sea.

The negative note on this day is put by the final withdrawal of the Andalusian Blanca Manchón, who, despite putting all his bow on sailing today with an injured foot, has been forced to return to land and say goodbye to the championship. In his attempt to sail today, Blanca was assisted by the doctor of the Andalusian Centre for Sport Medicine of the Junta de Andalucía, Mari Carmen Vaz.

All of her companions regret what happened but it is no less true that for some the possibilities are opened, given the extraordinary performance shown by the Andalusian on the first day of testing. De Geus holds his head after winning a test, with a quarter and a second in the others, which together with the discard of a seventh, allows him to look away at the fight that opens up among his rivals.

Six points from the Dutch are the Israeli Katy Spychanov and the Polish Zofia Noceti, tied in second and third place with a partial victory each. The Israelite is worth her own in the last test of the day to solve the tie on her side, while the Polish can't look her first by clicking with a tenth on the second test. With Manchón out of the championship, the first Spanish is the Zoe Fernández Sub 21 Balear that signs the 20th provisional post.

Among the men, the defender of the title is still on a streak and with a third, a first and a second and the possibility to rule out yesterday's 11, already puts nine points between him and his followers. Here too, the fight for the podium is maximum, with the Italian Mattia Camboni, 2nd, 4th and 6th, and the Israeli Yav Cohen, 1st, 3rd and 3rd, tied in second and third, respectively. Both do the duties to get rid of a bad result yesterday and climb the coveted podium, from which the Greek Vyron Kokkalanis falls, now fourth with seven more points. Nor has it been a good day for the Polish Piotr Myszka and the Israeli Tom Reuveny who save the furniture thanks to the discards and will leave tomorrow from the fifth and sixth place, respectively.

Of the Spaniards, the Canary Angel Granda ends the day with a victory that allows him to follow the tenth, while the local Juan Manuel Moreno rises two posts until the 18th after a seventh in today's first trial. The national top 3 is completed by Ivan Pastor who goes down to the 23rd place penalized by an inopportune off-line with maximum penalty.

Tomorrow the departure schedule is maintained at 12: 00 hours for three new tests and a part that announces very similar winds. In the last two days of competition, athletes who have previously requested it will be able to perform the PCR tests in the same centre before leaving for their respective countries, making use of a service made available to them by the organization in collaboration with the SYNLAB Medical Diagnostic Services Centre.

2021 / 04 / 22: The ESP Sailing Team of RS: X with the highest illusion put in the World Cup of Cadiz:

La bahía de Cádiz acoge el Campeonato del Mundo de la clase RS:X... Blanca Manchón en categoría femenina y Ángel Granda en masculina encabezan la participación española como representantes nacionales en los próximos Juegos Olímpicos

The bay of Cadiz hosts the World Championship of the class RS: X... White Manchón in female category and Angel Granda in male lead Spanish participation as national representatives in the next Olympic Games

Everything is prepared in the bay of Cadiz so that tomorrow Friday will sound the first start of the RS World Championship: X Golden Gots, organized by the Andalusian Federation of Sailing.

With the registration open until half a day today, the organization has a total of 77 registered with 27 countries, with 31 participants in the female and 46 in the male modality.

The Spanish participation is close to the twenty of regatists who play with the advantage of knowing the land, a bay for which the weather parts announce changing and unstable conditions, but in which they are used to sailing under all circumstances, which is expected to be a strong point for all of them.

For Ángel Granda and Blanca Manchón, the ESP Sailing Team members in RS: X class, this is the last international event before flying to Japan, an important opportunity to take the pulse to those who will be their rivals in Enoshima waters.

And there will be no lack of first-level adversaries in Gaditan waters, such as the current world champions, the Dutch Lilian Dde Geus and Kiram Badloe. To them is added a cast of first world figures: the French Charline Picon, the Polish Zofia Noceti, the British Emma Wilson, the Polish Piotr Myszka, the Italian Mattia Camboni, the Greek Vyron Kokkalanis, or the Israeli Yocu Omer.

Without forgetting the Spanish Ivan Pastor, representative of our country in the last four Olympics, or the Andalusian Juan Manuel Moreno, also a member of the pre-Olympic team during this campaign.

For the canary Ángel Granda this will be its first competition as the holder of the Olympic Square and Blanca Manchón, ninth in the world event of 2020, it is ready to be overcome by a good progression during the last months of training and competitions; the Andaluza has set its goal in the Top5 of the classification.
