Carlos Ordoñez and María Fernández in Snipe and Marta Simal in Optimist won the XVI Trophy of Santa Catalina de Vela Ligera, the Real Club Astur de Regatas... which was held this weekend in the waters of Gijón Bay.
Among the Snipes there was a struggle without barracks between the first two classified, Carlos Ordoñez and María Fernández on the one hand and José Palacio and Alberto Suárez on the other. The two couples won one sleeve and ended up seconds in another. In the first manga they arrived together to the line of arrival winning Palacio and Suárez for less than half a length. The second race was for Ordoñez and Fernández. Alfonso Cabezudo and Álvaro López were third in general after finishing in third position in the two sleeves.
In the Optimist class, Marta Simal took the Trophy by winning the first of the sleeves and ending in the second position in the closing. Alvaro Alonso with a third and a first place was second on the table, closing the podium posts, Jorge Sevillano, scoring a second and a fourth place.
2021 / 04 / 22: Saint Catherine's Trophy of Light Sailing this weekend in Gijón
Organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas, during the next weekend, will take place in the waters of Gijón Bay, the XVI Trophy of Santa Catalina of light sail, reserved to the classes: Optimist, Feva, Snipe, Laser Radial and 4.7.
The first test is scheduled for 12: 30 on Saturday, with four sleeves in total scheduled, to be held between Saturday and Sunday. For the trophy to be valid, at least one sleeve must be held. The race field will be located in the bay of San Lorenzo, taking a course of approximately 50 minutes.
