The Club Marítimo de Canido and the Hospital Vithas Vigo have presented this morning the Trophy Vithas Vigo, which in its first edition includes the experience of the 24 Spring Regatas organized even by the Maritime. This makes the next weekend 90 optimist of all Galicia can be gathered in a test that aspires to become a reference within the light candle at the peninsular level. Among the confirmed participants, the presence of the full Galicia Selection, which will take advantage of this meeting to complete its preparation for the Spanish Cup that is held in the coming days in the Gipuzcoan city of Hondarribia.
On the other hand, and from now on, the School of Sailing of the Maritime Club of Canido will become the School of Selling Vithas Vigo. In this school, a hundred students take their first steps in the sailing world every year. In addition, every summer, it hosts another 150 students, who do not have to belong to the Maritime Club to receive their "sea baptism."
The presentation of the I Trophy Vithas Vigo this morning was attended by the Maritime Club of Canido, its president, Mauro Olmedo, accompanied by the comandoro, Ramón Ojea, and the regatta director, Emilio Méndez; by the sponsor, was present the director-manager of Vithas in Galicia, the Dr. Ciro Cabezas, and the hospital's commercial director, Catalina Lamas. All the attendees agreed to express their satisfaction at this great opportunity this weekend for the base candle in the Viguese ría.
In the presentation, the president of the Marítimo de Canido Club, Mauro Olmedo, highlighted the importance that this race, which reaches its twenty-fifth edition, has for the promotion of sport among the younger and for them to internalize healthy living habits linked to the sailing and the sea.
For his part, the director-manager of Vithas Vigo, Dr. Ciro Cabezas, highlighted the common points between the hospital and the Club Marítimo, as they both defend a healthy lifestyle based on sport. According to the Dr. Checchi heads, "the promotion of sailing from very early ages, as the Canido Maritime Club does, is a great basis for building healthy lifestyles, rooted in sport."
In the same way, the manager of Vithas Vigo revealed the experience of the hospital professionals in the care of athletes; and he recalled that, like the hospital, the Marítimo de Canido Club has been closely linked to the city for more than half a century, and that "there is a whole generation of vines who were born in the hospital and learned to love the sea, and therefore the sailing in the Marítimo."
The area where the race field will be set up is the area known as the Canido Tenada which is at the socaire of the archipelago of the Cis Islands.
On line exit by La Coruña the number one in the Galician ranking, which won in the week Abanca the Regata Aurelio Fernández Laxe: Fernando González del Castillo. On the part of Ribeira, the strongest a priori is Bruno Iglesias, which is the number two Galician. Both optimists still have two seasons in the optimist, and they have a splendid future ahead of them.
For the host club, the best positions are Rodrigo Pérez Moya, Fernando Campos and Miguel Rodríguez Tábara... as well as Emma Chamorro.
The Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo presents, in line of departure, its best female choice, which is Natalia Domínguez, and in Pedro Casas boys.
At the technical level, the Maritime has two of the best judges and jurors in Galicia, that with the case of the vilagardean Juan José Durán and the vigués the young Carlos Mugra, which is the maximum promise as a bravery of the College of Judges and Jurors of Galicia.
The Royal Nautical Club of Vigo has its hopes set in Inés Ameneiro and Jorge Astiazarán. The clubs confirmed today are the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, the Nautico de Panxón, the Marítimo de Canido, the Real Nautico de Vigo (which will be, with 25, the club with the most athletes), Real Club Nautico Rodeira de Cangas, Real Club Nautico de Sanxxo, Club Nautico Deportivo de Ribeira, Club Fluvial de as Pontes, Club Nautico de Sada, Club Marítimo de Oza and the Real Club Nautico de A Coruña.
