The Ocean Race Europe will have a scale in Alicante, which is confirmed as the fourth and last city to be announced of the high-rise heavy sailing competition that will be held between May and June this year.
Alicante and the Valencia Community are historically linked to The Ocean Race, as the city houses both the offices of the race and the Museum and has been the starting port of all the editions of the world round since 2008.
The Ocean Race Europe is a new event in the ocean navigation calendar, open to the VO65 monotypes and the IMOCA 60 ships that will compete for the first time in a complete crew configuration.
The teams will sail to Alicante from Cascais in the second stage of the race, where they will stand out for a few days in mid-June. From the Port of Alicante the fleets will head north for the arrival of the third stage with the end in Genoa.
With the Alicante stage confirmed as the final piece of the tour, the full calendar of The Ocean Race Europe, including the coastal races, will be released in the coming days.
