2021 / 04 / 16: Attractive weekend with the Grand Trophy of Valencia and the President Trophy

On Saturday and Sunday, the races for the classes 29er, 420 and Snipe will be played, which will have the territorial, while Bic Techno, iQFoil and Raceboard will be marked for the Autonomical Cup... on Sunday the fleet of cruises has the first race of the year in Valencian waters, within the framework of the President Trophy (Photo Pep Portas)
The Royal Nautical Club of Valencia is hosting this weekend, two important races for light sailing and cruise. The first is part of the Grand Trophy Valencia, in its second delivery after the one held a few days ago with the ILCA fleet. On this occasion the protagonism is assumed by the 29th, 420, Snipe, Bic Techno, IQFoil and Raceboard, being valid for the Autonomical to the first three classes and can be noted for the Autonomical Cup on the tables.
As an autonomous test, there is much at stake and so the best will be present in the capital of the Turia. The 29er fleet, with 8 local ships, 1 of the RCN of Calpe and a mixed crew, between the RCN Valencia and the RCN Calpe, is noteworthy. In 420 it will also have a common denominator, due to the potential and level of its regatists, mainly the CN Altea or RCN Castellón, to which the clubs of Jávea, Benidorm and Campello join.
The Snipe fleet, with 27 registered, has the highest representation of the Club headquarters, although it also has participation from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, highlighting the balear tandem formed by Jordi Tryai and Sara Franceschi (CN Mahón). The podium options, as for the premises are very wide, although to be noted we have Agustín Zabalua and Belén Olivas or the brothers Gonzalo and Javier Moner, as well as José Luis Maldonado and Laura Morata.
In iQFOIL two own names: José Luis Boronat (CN Jávea) and Jorge Aranzueque (CN Santa Pola), although in the quineas to be on the podium next Sunday there are also regatists such as Octavio Ramón (CN Jávea) or Javier Clement (CN Santa Pola). In the BIC Techno, in its various categories, there are many options of a possible podium, although it always highlights the powerful fleet of the French Hispanic CW, one of the most representative of the Community, for the quality and level of its regatists, with the permission of the representatives of Santa Pola and Jávea, or the new hornada that comes from Torrevieja or the RCN of Valencia itself.
A line that also follows EV Seasurf Patrol, some of the most laureated clubs in the Community in the Raceboard class, led by veteran Rafel Ros, accompanied is if, by the alicantine Marc Rene Arnold Leutscher (RCR Alicante), another institution in this fleet.
As for the cruise fleet, the competition for them returns, after three months of paron forced by the Covid 19 and the sanitary measures established by the Generalitat Valenciana. The race of this Sunday, 18 April, is on the agenda of the President Trophy, being the third noticeable test, the two previous ones could not be celebrated because of the health situation, as well as the Comodoro Trophy planned for the months of January and February.
The light candle has a wide program in these two days of competition with a total of six planned tests, with the top of departure to the first test of the day scheduled at 1 p.m. on Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday. The cruise, for its part, the committee intends to take a coastal route to the Perelló and return, with the arrival line located at the entrance mouth to the nautical.
