Joan Cardona proclaims champion of Europe U23 and closes the continental with a fourth place in the general ranking, in which his partner at the ESP Sailing Team, Alejandro Muscat, is 16.

The Spanish face a crucial meeting between 8 and 12 May, for which this European has served as a fleet training and will continue to prepare in depth the next few days. The Porto World Championship will be the last chance to classify Spain in the Finn class for the Olympic Games, and we do not know yet whether the last chance to go to some Olympics in this discipline.

2021-04-15: Cardona holds as leader of its category after a complicated day in Vilamoura

Playing with the variable conditions of Vilamoura, the penultimate day passes bill to Joan Cardona who remains leader of the U23 division... Alejandro Muscat signs his best day with results that make him ascend 11 positions in the classification

The Finn European Championship adds a new day dominated by unstable winds in direction and intensity that mark the fate of the regatists in a difficult race field, where the setbacks of the first compas weigh to the line of arrival.

Under these premises, the day has not shone as expected for Joan Cardona that descends to the eighth position of the general, remaining as the first U23 outstanding. On the contrary, his partner in the Spanish Olympic team, Alejandro Muscat, has been more favored on the way out and first bound to sign a fifth place in the first race and a 12 in the second. These results have catapulted the Catalan regatist until the 15th place of the general, saving 11 positions compared to yesterday's day.
