French Domain in the second test of the Formula Kite circuit with Poema Newland's triumph in girls and a meritorious second position of Gisela Polido
The French Theo de Ramecourt has offered a whole recital at the Cutty Sark FKSS Palamós. The number three in the world in the Kite Formula specialty today gave no choice to the rest of the fleet and won seven of the nine sleeves contested with incredible wind and wave conditions in Palamós Bay. The race was held with the collaboration of the Club Náutic Costa Brava & Vela Palamós. The podium was closed by Russian Denis Taradin and Polish Mak Zakowski.
The best classified Spanish was the Valencian Alejandro Client that ended in the seventh place of the general. In females the winner was French Poema Newland ahead of Gisela Pulido and Polish Nina Arcisz.
After the first two tests of Mallorca and Palamós, the general classification of the Cutty Sark FKSS 2021 circuit is being led by Russian Denis Taradin with Polish Jakub Jurkowski second and Alejandro Citation third. In females, the circuit is headed by the Polish Julia Damasiewicz ahead of Gisela Polido and the Russian Sofia Kotliar.
Theo de Ramecourt arrived in Palamós with the great favorite vitola to the final triumph and made this vitola valid. The galo gave no room to the rest of the fleet and chained a series of seven consecutive wins to ensure its third victory in the Kite Spain Series Formula after those achieved in Castellón in 2019 and in the Alarcón swamp in 2020. Only Denis Taradin, who came from winning in Mallorca last week, was able to fight him for partial wins. And he did it in the last two sleeves when with the guaranteed victory the French wanted to try to get out the pin and he didn't get the play as he expected.
The best classified Spanish was the Valencian Alejandro Client. The two-time Cutty Sark FKSS circuit champion finished seventh after a couple of problems in today's races. The second best was Kiko Peiró who finished in eighth position and the third was the dianense Sebastián Ducos in the thirteenth square.
As for the female classification, the winner was French Poema Newland. She was not the candidate for victory in Palamós but she was the one who best adapted to a very hard race field in which the girls had to make the nine sleeves also with the consequent wear that it causes. Newland and also Gisela Pulido surprised the great favorites in the top of the drawer, such as the Polish Julia Damasiewicz and the French Alexia Fancelli who noticed over six months without being in a competition.

Palamós is now home to the second test of the Cutty Sark FKSS 2021 circuit of the Formula Kite specialty. Last weekend, the first victory race of Russian Denis Taradin and Polish Julia Damasiewicz was held in Mallorca. This weekend there will be 54 regatists registered in the Open category and almost a ten in the F-One FKSS Amateur.
Today the training races have been held and tomorrow and the past will be fought the seams to decide the champions of which is now the European reference circuit in the Olympic specialty of the Kitefoil.
In Palamós, with the collaboration of the Náutic Costa Brava & Vela Palamós Club, there will be a meeting at the Cutty Sark FKSS 2021 Palamós over fifty regatists of ten different nationalities with a wide representation of the national teams of Israel, Poland and Russia. There will also be a large participation of French regatists. In both male and female category, the cast of regatists is world-class. In women five of the top 10 regatists in the world are participating in the competition of Palamós.
The Polish Julia Damasiewicz, who has four consecutive victories in the FKSS, is the first of those present in the world ranking of the IKA in third place, but will have a lot of battle with rivals of the size of the French Alexia Fancelli, fourth in the world, or her compatriot Poema Newman and the Polacas Nina Arcisz and Magdalena Woyciechowska, all three of the top ten in the world. He also competes in Palamós the Spanish Gisela Polido, which is fifteenth in the world ranking of the specialty.
Also in men there will be a competition with great names. The great favorite to the final triumph is the French Theo of Ramecourt which is currently the number three in the world. The galo already knows what it is to win in the Cutty Sark FKSS because in 2019 it won in Castellón and in 2020 it did so in the Alarcón swamp test. De Ramecourt wants to break the inertia of Russian Denis Taradin who won last week at CN S'Arenal and is the current defender of the title of the Cutty Sark FKSS.
But in Palamós there will also be the Polish Mak Zakowski, number 10 in the world, and the best Spanish in this specialty, the Valencian Alejandro Client, which is currently twelfth in the world ranking. The other registered Spaniards will be the Valencians Carlos Puig, Kiko Peiró and Sebastián Ducos.
The Polish Zakowski was today the best on the training day after two seconds and one in the three sleeves. The Polish took the Caravanas El Osito award to the best on the eve of the competition. Second was De Ramecourt and the other great favorite for the triumph in Palamós, Denis Taradin, had to retire after having an incident in the water with another regatist and suffering a blow to the ankle. Fourth was the Valencian Alejandro Climent.
The one who will not be of the departure today is the best Israeli in the specialty Dor Zarka who has not come to recover in time from the deep cut that was made in the hand in Mallorca.
