Marinas de Andalucía calls for unity to enhance Andalusian nautical tourism
To bet on the promotion of the Andalusian nautical sector. To defend and enhance the union of the administrations and all sectors to enhance the nautical tourism and to bring it to the level of other tourist segments of Andalusia such as golf or culture. With these main lines the president of the Association of Marine Sports and Tourism Ports of Andalusia, Manuel Jiménez, has summarized the strategy of the collective, during the celebration of the ordinary general assembly that took place yesterday in a virtual way.
Jiménez, in the explanation of his annual report submitted to the assembly of associated ports, has pointed out that the seaports "have demonstrated their resilience and capacity during the hard months of confinement and the beginning of the pandemic, demonstrating that nautical tourism is a safe activity, being able to keep the templates almost in all the seaports and responding to their customers in all cases," he says.
With regard to the recent approval of the amendment of the Law on Ports of Andalusia, the president of Marinas of Andalusia has emphasized that he has granted "rules of the game" even if he does not consider some of the requests made since the association. He added, "the association will continue to defend the general interests of the marinas, among which the promotion of the sector is fundamental at this new stage."
Increasing the level of involvement of the administrations in order to enhance the nautical sector is also one of the objectives set by the new delegated commission of Marinas de Andalucía. In this regard, its president has stated that so far it is being obtained from various institutions with which a positive response has been maintained, "but we have to continue to encourage it to empower the marinas and the nautical sector and to be placed at such important levels in Andalusia as golf tourism, cultural or gastronomic tourism," said Jiménez.
The appointment of the new manager of Puerto Sherry, Pedro Bores, as vice-president of the Marine Association of Andalusia, to replace Enrique Ópez-Bosch, has also been unanimously approved.
Among the other matters dealt with in the ordinary assembly, a budget has been approved for the current financial year, of which a greater international presence with the assistance of Marinas de Andalucía to several international nautical halls from next June.
Finally, and within the association section, it has been approved to join the National Association of Nautical Companies, ANEN, by considering it to be a great national interlocutor on the interests of the nautical sector, as Jiménez explained.
The Association of Sports and Tourist Ports of Andalusia (Marinas de Andalucía) is a professional association that was born in 1982 with the aim of representing, managing and defending the general interests of the sports ports of the Community of Andalucía. This entity represents 15 marinas on the Andaluza coast distinguished by quality in infrastructure and services. At present, Marinas de Andalucía is composed of sixteen private sports ports: Marina Isla Canela, Marina El Rompido, Puerto Sherry, Alcaidesa Marina, Puerto de La Duquesa, Real Club Náutico Estepona, Puerto Deportivo Estepona, Puerto Banus, Puerto Deportivo Marbella, Puerto Deportivo Fuengirola, Puerto Deportivo Benalmádena, Club El Candado, Marina del Este, Almerimar and Puerto Deportivo Aguadulce. Marinas de Andalucía is a full member of Euromarina (European Federation of Sports Ports Associations), the Spanish Federation of Sports and Tourist Ports Associations (FEADPT) and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Andalucía (CEA).
