The Club de Vela Ballena Alegre, based on the coast of Girona, in close collaboration with the Club Nàutic l'Escalo, the Federació Catalana de Vela, the Real Federación Española de Vela, the Asociació Catalana de la Classe Optimist - ACCIO and the Asociación Española de la Classes Internacional Optimist - AECIO, the City Council of Sant Pere Pescador, the Patronato de Turismo Costa Brava - Pirineu de Girona and the Consell Català de l'Esport, now announce the project of candidacy to organize the Optif World Championship 2023.

The success of the international candidacy depends on multiple and varied factors and the Club de Vela Ballena Alegre plans together with the Club Náutico l'Cscale a cycle of regatas and training activities for young regatists that include the candidates for the Championship of Catalunya 2022, the Championship of Spain 2023.

The Ballena Alegre Sailing Club has a long experience in the championships and races organized for more than twenty years, with level tests such as the Professional Windsurf Circuit - PWA from 1999 to the present, the European Championship Youth of Kitesurf, the Spanish Catamarans Cup, the European and World Catamaran F18 and the prestigious New Regatist Training Clínic of Optist - WindBA for more than ten years.

The next light sailing events planned are the organization of the Hobie Multi European Championship 2021 and the 23rd Hobie 16 Worlds in 2022, consolidating a work team of recognized international prestige, which in each event offers participants the best stage of competition, combined with a wide range of activities and spaces to share experiences among the regalists of different nationalities.
