In the selective process, in the opinion of the technicians, the combination formed by Saul Craviotto, Marcus Cooper, Carlos Arévalo and Rodrigo Germade achieved a clearly higher result than the other two combinations, maintaining very similar pallet number and pallet frequency values, which indicates a better efficiency in their pallet resulting, very possibly, from better compenetration and synchronization, decisive elements in the performance of a team boat.

The Royal Spanish Federation of Piragüismo has officially announced that the palists Saul Craviotto, Marcus Cooper Walz, Carlos Arévalo and Rodrigo Germade will be the crew of the K4 500 who will compete at the Tokyo Games.

The technician, Miguel Garcia, considers that this crew has shown greater guarantees of success for the Tokyo Olympic Games, and points out that it includes the best representatives of K1-200 meters... while not hiding that Spain is one of the most choice to be on the K4 podium.

The Spanish state that the unselected athletes will continue their preparation within the objectives of the K4 project for the JJOO, taking into account the current pandemic situation as well as any other eventuality that would require an immediate reinforcement of the K4 Olympic project.

The K4 500 current world subchampion, candidate for the title of Olympic champion, is composed of Saul Craviotto, quadruple Olympic medalist; Marcus Cooper Walz, Olympic champion at K1 1,000 in Rio; Carlos Arévalo, world subchampion at K4 500, and Rodrigo Germade, Olympic diploma at K4 1,000 in Rio. Craviotto, Walz, Arévalo and Germade, together with Cristian Toro and Carlos Garrote, were part of the selection process of the HSK4 500 and HSK1 200 project for the JJOO that ended on March 14. The selection criteria established that in the case of a K4-500 vessel whose time is best, for a difference of 0,6 "or more than the second, and in that crew the best K1-200 is found, it is that vessel that will come to the JJOO and the provisional holder of the K1-200 will be the winner of the K1-200 selective.
