The Women's Regatta-Xunta Trophy of Galicia, organized by the Royal Galician Federation of Vela with the support of the Xeral Secretariat for O Sport began with provisional leadership of the crew of Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona (two first places in the two and four races of the day, plus a second and a third) and much scratch in the river of Arousa.

In fact, two ships had problems: that of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, with the double champion of the world of Vaurien Alejandra Suárez in the cane, broke the rudder in the first manga and would no longer compete; the ship that represented the Vertigo Sailing of Punta Lagoa was hooked in a beacon and remained with the rizón, signing a double DNF in the two initial races and two fifths later put. There were peaks of 28 knots - it went down to 15 in the last two races - with wind of 40 and a "very hard" day for the crews, as the organization explained.

But the championship was a success. Four races, partial victories of the Monte Real (Marta Lino, Cristina González, Rita Hernández and María Campos), two, and two of the Real Club de Mar de Aguete (Claudia Sobral, Paula Fernández, Teresa González and Alejandra Peleteiro), two others, who promise an equal fight during this autonomous phase of the Women's League.

With crews of four regatists in each Elliott 6M, it closes the first day as leader of the ship of Baiona (4 points), with Aguete equal (4) and the regatists of the Royal Nautical Club of Coruña in third position. At the national end of June, also in Vilagarcía, only the champion will go.

The following dates, April 24 and May 8 and 22.

The idea has been "very welcome," said both Villaverde and his vice-president. In fact, a maximum of six clubs were marked and covered.

The Royal Galician Federation of Vela presented at its headquarters in Bouzas the Regata de la Mujer, a new initiative that was born after the European of 420 and 470 in Vilagarcía in 2019 "to give even more content to the Centre of Tecnification," explained Manuel Villaverde, federal president. His vice-president, Viviana García, and the xeral secretary for or Sport of the Xunta, José Ramón Lete, representing the Government of Galicia, who supports this initiative, presented the event.

The Nautics of Vigo and A Coruña, the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona, the Maritime of Canido, the Real Club of Mar de Aguete and the Vertigo Sailing of Punta Lagoa have registered regatists for this Women's League of Vela, which will take place in two phases, an autonomous preante on Friday, April 24 and May 8 and May 22, and a national final phase from 4 to 6 June, with five crews invited from other territorial federations that will face the champion of Galicia, always in the waters of Arousa.
