The waters of Vilamoura will be this week center of the international sailing with the celebration of two important dates: the 470 World Championship and the RS: X European Championship, in which the crews of the Spanish Olympic sailing team, ESP Sailing Team, and the pre-Olympic team, will fight for the podium.

For the crews of the Spanish Olympic team this is certainly one of the most important quotes of the Olympic cycle, of the last ones planned to measure forces with whom will be their opponents in the waters of Enoshima in the Summer Games.

The 470 World Cup will premiere tomorrow Monday the intense program of the week, with races that will continue until Saturday 13 with the Races Medal dispute. Jordi Xammar and Nicolás Rodriezen the male division and Silvia Mas and Patricia Cantero in the female division will sail in the Olympic disciplines of Tokyo 2020, also joining the mixed category that will make their debut in Paris 2024.

Among these young crews that already begin their Olympic preparation are the canaries Patricia Reino and Pablo García, the Catalans Nacho Dávila and María González and the baleares María Bover and Fernando Rodríguez.

In the absence of the Australians Belcher and Ryan, current world champions, our world subchampions Xammar and Rodríguez will see the faces with crews of the size of the Swedish Dahlberg and Bergstrom, third in the latest world podium and European champions, or the French Peponnet and Mian, third in the European. The Spaniards arrive with the endorsement of a second place in the World Rking and the title of champions of the last international competition, the World Cup Series of Miami 2020.

With regard to the female contingent, with the exception of the Japanese (6th) and China (10th) crews, the World Ranking Top10 is completely led by the French Lecointre and Returnaz, the Spanish Mas and Cantero and the British Mills and McIntre, the latter defending the world title. The Skrzpulec / Ogar Polacas and the Brazilian Oliveira / Barbachan close a Top5 that promises to give much war and excitement for the next six days.

On Tuesday the tables will come in, with a list of entries still quite open when you have until tomorrow Monday to formalize your inscriptions in the RS: X. European Championship

The Spanish delegation is headed by Blanca Manchón, seventh in the continental meeting last year, which will have as partners in the line of departure to the Top5 in the complete European 2020, formed by the French Charline Picon, the Israeli Katy Spychakov, the Polish Zofia Noceti, the British Emma Wilson and the Italian Georgia Speciale.

The pre-Olympic male team, still to be found out who will occupy the Spanish Olympic Square in Tokyo 2020, goes in full with six regatists: the Andalusian Juan Manuel Moreno, the Alicantino Ivan Pastor, the baleares Joan Carles Cardona and Sergi Scandinell, the canary Ángel Granda and the Vigués Tomás Vieito. The list of rivals is headed by the defenders of the continental podium: the Israelites Cohen and Zubari, and the Dutch Badloe, who also holds the world title.

It will be a special European for the Spanish to be prepared as hosts of the World Championship 2021 RS: X, which has announced its celebration in the waters of the Bay of Cadiz from 21 to 27 April, following the cancellation of the French Olympic Week to be held in Hyères and whose program included the world.
