"The data of the nautical market recorded in February make us foresee a nautical season with some stabilization for this year, with good expectations of consolidating nautical tourism as a safe and quality leisure option. The growth of 9% in the registration of recreational craft last month, compared with February 2020, balancing the result in the cumulative of the first two months of 2021, even more (22.5%) than the figures reached in the same month of 2019. The registration of recreational boats in Spain, in the course of the year, has a decrease of -1.5%, recovering from the fall experienced last January (-18.78%) and, in February, exceeding the records of the same month of 2020 (+ 9%) and, in particular, 2019 (+ 22.55%).
Of the total registration of recreational vessels registered until February of this year (594), 84% are for private use, while 16% (95) are for vessels for the nautical charter (rent).
These are the data collected in the "Report of the market for recreational craft. Enero-February 2021," edited by ANEN from the data provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy
"All indicates that the users of nautical, part of them national tourists who started at the recreational nautical last year looking for a safe alternative to enjoy their holidays, are advancing the purchase of boats this year to reenjoy the sea as soon as adequate sanitary conditions are given. The charter market, whose reserves are concentrated in the strongest months of the nautical season, also improves considerably, reducing the fall in registered enrolment in January (-47.5%) to the -7.5% last February," says Carlos Sanlorenzo.
The largest vessels, from 12 meters in length, are the most growing in enrolment compared to the same period (energy-February) of 2020: the ships between 12 and 16 meters have a growth of 16.7% and the more than 16 meters by 150% (it must be noted that this segment represents 1.7% of the Spanish nautical market).
The following are the medium-length vessels, between 8 and 12 metres, which also have good results with a growth of 9.4% in enrolment.
On the other hand, smaller vessels, up to 8 meters long (83% of the nautical market), remain negative (-3%) but slowing the fall of the month of January which was almost at -18%.

By type of boat. The increase in the registration of sailboats until February this year (10.8%) is highlighted. Ships to motor ships, the most demanded in the national nautical market, also grow in enrollments, although to a lesser extent (0.8%).
The rest of the markets continue to be negative in the enero-February period: water bikes fall by -2.1%, semi-rigid pneumatic vessels by -1.5% and folding pneumatic vessels record the worst data (-21.5%).
