The Spanish Sailing Team Sailing Team starts its trip to Tokyo

There are only four months left for the JJ.OO. and the ESP Sailing Team logistics machinery - the Olympic team - works against the clock
When you think about what it means for an Olympic team to go to the Olympic Games that will be held this summer in Japan, you don't usually fall into the "back-up" that works against the clock, and the containers with all the material that athletes need this week is a sprint.
The CEAR Prince Philip of Santander is in the middle of a boil on February 24. The first charge to the Olympic villa is ready and is the "container- workshop," reconverted to work on it. It is full of tools, fibers, repair material, etc, and has been customized according to the needs of the Olympic team members. To take advantage of the load on it will also load several of the coaches' pneumatic.
Then it has been the turn of three more containers, where each team has been carefully loading its boats - two by class -, masts, candles and other materials. The same athletes, technicians and staff of the CEAR are in charge of fitting a puzzle where one square meter cannot be missed or left.
It will be more than two months' journey by merchant, from Bilbao - the port of departure - to Japan, where it is expected that the next 1 May will reach the town of Yokohama. From that moment on the customs process will begin waiting for the Spanish team material to see Japanese light on May 18.
The ESP Sailing Team will send to Japan a total of 5 containers with all the material of the classes already classified for the JJ.OO.: 470 male, 470 female, 49er, 49er FX, Nacra 17. In the case of the Finn class, for example, where Spain will fight for its Olympic square in April, there is not enough time to send a container, so the boat must be moved on a cargo plane in case of obtaining that desired and worked square. For their part the athletes of the RS classes: X male and female will travel to Japan with their material on board the plane, as special luggage. A luggage that can exceed 70 kilos.
