The palists Saúl Craviotto, Rodrigo Germade, Carlos Arévalo and Juan Oriyés, together with the technical of the Spanish team Miguel García, have been unharmed in the traffic accident they suffered on the Huerne highway, where the strong wind raches caused the trailer loaded with boats of more than 10 meters - including the K4 to compete in JJOO, which has been destroyed - to be released from the van in the next few hours.

The event occurred yesterday at km 65, after 19 hours, when the K4 expedition returned to Asturias after a concentration in Seville.

The driver of the van, Miguel García, explains that he felt the abrupt of a "blow-off" and immediately the trailer was released from the mooring to the tractor vehicle, leaving it loose to end up in the medium that separates the lanes between one direction and another of the highway that communicates Asturias with La Meseta.

"The fright has been tremendous but happily we have not suffered injuries, nor have other vehicles that were currently on the highway been involved," said the technician, who has however regretted the disorder that will be to rebuild a new boat to compete in the Tokyo JJOO.

Miguel García, who has explained that in that place they have already turned several trucks when they go down without charge, has detailed that, after the arrival of the members of the Civil Guard, they tried to remove the trailer but it was not possible because of the strong wind raches that continued to blow... "The wind was strong in the rest of the journey but not so much with the place where we suffered the accident. There he came in with an incredible force. When we got out of the van, we had a hard time holding on, we had a bad time so we could signal and warn of the danger. We had to be inclined to force with the demand forward. This morning we returned to the place where we suffered the accident but we were not able to remove it," he said.

The Spanish K4, the world's subchampion in the last three World Championships, is currently profiling the crew with which it will compete in the Tokyo JJOO, where it is one of the bazas of the Spanish Piragüism selection to achieve medal next August. In Seville, at the orders of Miguel García, in addition to Craviotto, Germade, Arévalo and Oriyés, train Marcus Cooper, Cristian Toro, Carlos Garrote, Daniel Abad, Carlos Borrás and Enrique Adan.
