The "Ponta Timbué" launch takes place only a few days after the first entry into the "Ponta Macalonga" water. The Armon Shipyards in Vigo hosted the launch of the "Ponta Timbué," another of the new ships with the New Pescanova Group is renovating part of its fleet from Namibia and Mozambique.
The "Ponta Timbué" is a modern 32-meter-long freezer tangonero with capacity for 22 people who will fish for lobster in Pescamar, the Mozambique subsidiary of the New Pessanova Group. Its name has been chosen by the subsidiary's own captains and responds to a geographical point on the Mozambican coast. It incorporates state-of-the-art equipment, such as high energy efficiency engines that allow for high performance, reducing consumption and emissions, as well as improvements in the on-board processing system and greater crew comfort.
For their part, the three new 50-meter-long strawberries for hake fishing in the NovaNam subsidiary are already fishing in Namibia... the construction of the ships is being carried out in the installations of the Armon Shipyards in Vigo and Burela, generating about 200 jobs.
