The Formula Kite Spain Series 2021 calendar will have six events
The Kite Spain Series already has the closed calendar for its 2021 edition. The kit circuit that will be Olympic in Paris 2024 will have next season with six stops with what grows in a test compared to 2020 that was closed just three weeks ago in Tarifa waters. The circuit was able to complete its schedule in 2020 despite the pandemic thanks to its strength as an organization and the unconditional support of the headquarters where everything has been facilitated.
In each of the six tests, competitions will be held in the FK Open and F-One FK Amateur mode, and as announced in Tarifa, work is under way to get the Wingfire Spain Series to join some of the Grand Slam-format stops.
Since its birth in 2018 the FKSS has continued to grow. The first season was three trials played to move to four in 2019 and to five the season that now ends. The organization of the test has already closed the schedule for the next campaign with six tests of which four repeat and two are completely new: Palamós and Valencia.
The headquarters that follow on the calendar are Mallorca with the race dispute in the magnificent facilities of the CN S'Arenal. This event will open the season on March 19, 20 and 21 and will be held a week before the 52 Trophy S.A.R. Princess Sofia. Three weeks later, from 9 to 11 April, the action will be moved to one of the new events of the season: Palamós.
The CN Costa Brava & CV Palamós will be the club hosting the race to be held from the Playa Gran. The action of the kitefoil will be in the nerve center of the gerundense town.
This will be the first race cycle since the intention of the FKSS, as it has already done with much acceptance by the regatists in 2020, is to group competitions so that international competitors have a greater motivation for their travel to Spain to compete.
Thus, in the second half of May the activity is moved to the Comunitat Valenciana with two competitions of a tack. The first will be in Castellón, from 21 to 23 May, where the City Council and Club Eolo strongly support the race that was already a great success in 2020.
And directly from the Gurugu Beach of the Spanish capital, the "family 'of the Formula Kite Spain Series will move to Valencia from 28 to 30 May, which for the first time will receive a FKSS test. In this race the competition will be supported by the Real Club Náutico Valencia which will be the venue of the event. The competition will be held from the Playa de Pinedo, but all the logistics and events will be held in the facilities of the prestigious, historic and dynamic club of Valencia.
After passing the summer, giving the action to the world's championships and Europe, the competition will return from October 22 to 24 with one of the great successes of 2020: Formentera. On the paradisiac island the support of the Consell Insular and the Club de Vela Formentera was decisive for this last edition of the race to be a total success for both the regatists and the public. Once again the race will visit the beach of Ses Salines to delight the competitors who were kneeled by a lot of audience.
And again the closing of the season will be in Tarifa. From 9 to 12 December the city of Gaditana will turn with the race thanks to the unconditional support of the town council and the KTS Tarifa Kite Club. If in the five previous tests the competition will be three days, in Tarifa it will again have four days of race with which the closure of the campaign will be even more special.
