European Catamarans Class A in Puerto Sherry from 3 to 10 July
The Puerto Deportivo Puerto Sherry will again become the seat of a great international competition in 2021. The Nautical Club Puerto Sherry will organize the European Catamaran Championship Class A. from 3 to 10 July
This race, which was scheduled for June this year but had to be postponed by the Covit-19 pandemic, will host more than a hundred international regatists with their Class A, which will certainly offer a whole show in the waters of the Bay of Cadiz.
Class A are the 'flying' catamarans. With special appendices that provide a vertical force from a certain speed, helmets can leave the water, supported only by the orzas and rudders, which gives this type of competition a special spectacularity.
The championship will start on Saturday July 3rd with the registration of participants and Sunday 4th there will be an official training race at 14: 00 for all participants. If the sanitary circumstances allow, the opening ceremony will be held in the afternoon... Monday will start at about 13: 00 hours the competition, with 12 tests scheduled, a maximum of three tests daily, until Saturday 10, when the final brooch will be put to the race with the act of trophy delivery (19: 00 hours).
The European Catamaran Championship Class A is organized by the CN Puerto Sherry, along with Adecat (National Secretariat of the Catamaran Class), and has the sponsorship of Puerto Sherry, Vanguard, ABD Consultants and Carex Logistics and the collaboration of the Andalusian Vela Federation (FAV), the City Council of El Puerto de Santa María, the High Council of Sports, the 5th anniversary of the First World Round, Actiba 2000 and Fias.
