Lamps of Galicia - Houses of Light is a photographic selection of the headlights that illuminate the almost 1500 km of the Galician coast, from the Eo river to the mouth of the Miño River. A tour of each of them, with its unique architectural characteristics and its own landscape environment. The book also includes an off-duty lighthouse and several unique sea beacons.

The series begins at the Pancha Island lighthouse in Ribadeo and ends with the Cabo Silleiro lighthouse in Baiona. From the headlights of this long, cut and varied coast, there is a recital of evocative images, in which the lighthouse is the protagonist, but in which also the secondary actors the sky, the sea, the coast, play an essential role in this representation, which aspires to be a visual ode to the majesty and fragility of the Galician coast and elevate the functional structure of the lighthouse to another category, due to the symbolic character that its special aura confers on them.

This distillation of the beauty of the lighthouses of the Galician coast has not been easily achieved, in a few times of inspiration, there is also much perspiration, many hours of work, many matrugons, many kilometers travelled, and a few miles sailing, to get this creature to be achieved in book form.

Félix González Muñiz is one of the few nautical photographers in the country, with a long history of work in the press, magazines, exhibitions and publications, he has been taking all his long professional life by taking pictures among the aromas of the salitre, an activity that began in 1988 as a collaborator for the northern peninsular and Galicia of the specialized magazine Yate and Motonautica. Many years of constant exercise of the profession in different fields: the photography of nautical sports, especially the sailing races, the coastal landscape, the ports, the headlights, the presence in exhibitions and the publication of several books. The photographs that make up Faros de Galicia- Casas de Luz are accompanied by a few brief texts, in which they are collected from their history, peculiarities of the environment and some curious anecdotes, work of the philologist and captain of the Marina Mercante José Manuel Díaz, also prologuist of the book.

Felix began his editorial work in 2014 with the publication of Asturias Costa Atlántica, a risky project of black and white photography that gathered a collection of unforgettable images of the Asturian coast, full of drama and strength. Later, in 2017, he began his romance with the headlights and the new work materialized in Faros de Asturias, which has almost the same format, but with a significant difference: in this book the photos are in color, so their commercial appeal is very superior. Continuing on the path of the headlights, a new publication appears in 2019: "Faros Mar Cantábrico," a force tour of photographs of the 44 headlights that range from the lighthouse of Biarritz to the Staca de Bares. Finally, in 2020, this book, Faros de Galicia, appears as a natural continuation to Faros Mar Cantábrico.
