Seven J70 teams at the Warm Up in Barcelona marked by success
A total of seven J70 from different parts of the Mediterranean coast have participated in the Warm Up held this weekend in Barcelona waters and that has had as a point of view the next edition of the Barcelona Winter Series.
The Barcelona RCN has participated the Mercedes-Benz Sailing Team of Ricardo Terrades and Luis Martínez Doreeste, Noticia of Luis Martín Cabiedes, Tenaz of Pablo Garriga and Flensburger Jung of Henk Dreijer. The Spirit of Alginet of Gabriel Mariani has arrived from Valencia; the Bodegas Can Marlès of Jorge Martínez Dorete and the RCN Palma el Nautia.net of Miquel Coll have arrived from the Néutic Club of Vilanova.
Ricardo Terrades, Project manager of the Mercedes-Benz Sailing Team stressed that:"We are all very happy to renavigate in Barcelona, our base port and hope that with the entry of the new year we will be able to return to the competition with as many standards as possible".
The Mercedes-Benz Sailing Team in addition to Barcelona's also sails with the grills of the RCN Gran Canaria and the RCN Arrecife, next weekend 19 and 20 December will return to the competition in Galician waters with the Villalia Winter Series.
2020 / 12 / 12: The Mediterranean fleet of J70 is concentrated in Barcelona waters
Much of the Mediterranean fleet of the class J70 meets this weekend in waters of the conical city in a concentration to prepare the Barcelona Winter Series that will start in early 2021.
Boats such as the Mercedes-Benz and Noticia are the only ones that have combined the navigation in both the Barcelona races and those of Vigo Barcos and Tenaz of Pablo Garriga, Spirit of Alginet of Gabriel Mariani, Noticia of Luis Martín Cabiedes, Mercedes-Benz Sailing Team of Ricardo Terrades or Bodegas Can Marlès of Jorge Martínez Dorese, participate in this Warm Up, in which they dispute different tests.
On the day of this Saturday the conditions have been very changing, with very roll winds and of different intensity that have passed from 20 to 5 knots, throughout the day. The two most important Spanish fleets are now distributed between Vigo and Barcelona.
The Villalia Winter Series 2020 has been able to be held with a certain normality, while the Barcelona Winter Series has had to be postponed due to the pandemic, although the fleet is confident to be able to resume the competition in the coming months.
