The fast supply of LNG has been carried out by the shipping and ESK

Baleària carried out yesterday the first natural gas bunking in the port of Almería... the fuel supply operation was carried out in a satisfactory way to the Bahama Mama ferry that covers the line with Melilla... ship that was remotorized last summer and can navigate powered by LNG, a much cleaner energy source than conventional fuels.

The supply, which was made in coordination with the Harbour Authority of Almería, was made through the Truck to Ship system, i.e., from a tanker to the ferry tanks... these have a storage capacity of 280 cubic meters, which allows the Bahama Mama to navigate with an autonomy of 750 nautical miles... the operation was carried out successfully by the company specialized in the transport and supply of natural gas ESK.

Baleària has a very firm bet on LNG as a fuel for its ships, which allows to reduce CO2 emissions by 35%, NOx emissions by 85% and eliminate sulphur emissions and particles. In 2021, the shipping company will have nine vessels with dual natural gas engines, six of them re-motorized and three other newly built.
