The French Charline Picon was finally raised with a title for which she has defined herself as the main favorite since the first day, without at any time abandoning the position of leader. The subchampion of the world, the Israeli Katy Spychakov is now also the subchampion of Europe, and the bronze has been for the Polish Zofia Noceti.
In the senior male category there have been six Spaniards present in this European, and the canary Ángel Granda and the Andalusian Juan Manuel Moreno the most prominent among them. They both started the championship at Top10, with a quarter and a seventh place respectively. The next day would take Granda to seventh position, as Moreno went down to 14th. After the third day, Granda was left at the gates of Top10, without the possibility of recovering his gap between the first ten in the absence of evidence on the last day. Juan Manuel Moreno finishes 14th, Ivan Pastor 17th, Joan Carles Cardona 21st, Sergi Scandinell 22nd, and Tomas Vieito 24th, among 43 participants.
In the male general, the Israeli Yoav Cohen has demonstrated his superiority from beginning to end, rising with a well-deserved title as the champion of Europe. He was accompanied on the podium by his compatriot Shahar Zubari and Dutch Kiran Badloe.
Among the youth, the Andalusian Aurelio Terry has been made with the bronze of the European Men's Championship, a podium post for which he has fought since the first day on which he was second, winning the Israeli Daniel Basik. And although without absolute podium, good mouth taste also among girls with silver in U17 achieved by the Zoe Fernández (6th in general). The female youth winner was Russian Yana Reznkova, and Israeli Linoy Schwartz (3rd in general) was the first U17.

But the wind has not been enough and, after giving a way out to the girls, the Committee has been forced to annul in the face of the low wind, while the boys were in the process of leaving... tomorrow, the senior male and female categories will dispute the Medal Race, in which Blanca Manchón will be the only representative of our country and will do so from the eighth position, by changing the classifications by the withdrawal of some regatists in the eighth race for having made mistakes in the course.

2020 / 11 / 26: A complicated day in Vilamoura... Manchón holds on to the top ten and Granda falls

White Manchón defends his ninth position while Angel Granda stays at the door of Top10 at the end of today's three tests (Oga Photo)
Long day today in Vilamoura, Portugal, where the RS European Championship is being held: X. After a first attempt, with the fleet in the water and the blush included, the participants have waited on the ground for conditions to allow to sail, which happened around 3: 00 in the afternoon.
For the second time in water and with a wind of between 15 and 20 knots, the Committee has worked quickly to add three new tests in both senior and two juvenile categories. Following them, Blanca Manchón has the only Spanish flag in Top10 positions, in the ninth position of the female classification, which is still led by the French Charline Picon.
It has not been the day of the Canary Angel Granda, which goes down to the eleventh place, but it has been the day of the Andalusian Juan Manuel Moreno that ascends to the 12th square tied to the point with Granda. Ivan Pastor, 16, is the third Spanish in a classification in which the Israeli Yoav Cohen continues to command with authority.
The youth have only played two sleeves and the Andalusian Aurelio Terry remains the best-ranked Spanish, with a fourth place two points from a podium to which he hopes to return tomorrow.

The first race of the RS: X European Championship, in which Spain will be represented by twelve windsurfers, is scheduled to leave tomorrow, Tuesday, at the edge of the twelve.
The Andalusian Blanca Manchón leads the Spanish representation as a member of the Spanish Olympic team, the ESP Sailing Team, which will represent us at the Tokyo JJOO. In the male category, which has not yet appointed the regatist to attend the Games, the members of the pre-Olympic team will sail: the canary Ángel Granda, the baleares Joan Carles Cardona and Sergi Scandinell, the Andalusian Juan Manuel Moreno, the alicantino Ivan Pastor and the Galician Tomás Vieito.
There will also be an important representation of the Spanish youth fleet, with the Andalusian Lucía García-Cubilana and the shooting Zoe Fernández among the girls and the Andalusian Alejandro Arauz, Daniel Sánchez and Aurelio Terry among the boys.
In the absence of the current champion of Europe and the World, the Dutch Kiran Badloe, and his compatriot Dorian van Rijsselberghe, the subchampion of Europe and the World, will be the French Thomas Goyard the main enemy to beat as a defender of the European male bronze. The best Spanish on the last continental date was Ivan Pastor who finished in ninth place.
Among the girls the Dutch Lilian de Geus stands up as a favorite as the winner of the last European and bronze in the World Championship, although her podium companions will not miss in the European Championship: the British Emma Wilson and the French Charline Picon. The subchampion of the World, the Israeli Katy Spychakov, will also sail in Portuguese waters. Blanca Manchón will fight to improve his ninth place in 2019.
In order to decide the European scepter the organisation has planned a series of races that will take place between tomorrow Tuesday and Friday 27, to give way on Saturday 28 to the Medal Race, final races that will uncover the new champions of Europe, with the ten best classified in male and female category in both divisions, seniors and youth. The weather parts make it possible to anticipate a complicated week with the entrance of a front from tomorrow.
