MSC Cruises temporarily suspend the navigation of MSC Magnifies by the pandemic

From December 18 MSC Magnifica will return to the operations, you will again sail with a special 8-night Christmas itinerary to which will follow your current 10-night itinerary through the Mediterranean until the end of April 2021
MSC Cruises has announced that, given the situation of the pandemic in France and Germany with major travel restrictions for passengers in these areas, the following routes of MSC Magnifica are suspended. This temporary strike affects the cruises until 18 December... France and Germany are two key markets of which come the majority of passengers of the 10-night itineraries across the Mediterranean with scales in Italy, Greece and Malta.
For its part, MSC Grandiosa will continue to carry out the same itinerary until next year. The flagship of the company will continue with its 7-night tour of the Mediterranean with boarding in Genoa, Civitavecchia, Naples and Palermo, in Italy, as well as making a stop in Malta, until 27 March 2021.
In addition, MSC Grandiosa will have the latest updated measures of the current MSC Cruises health and hygiene protocol, including the following:
- A new additional mid-cruise test (in addition to the existing universal test for all passengers before boarding)
- On-board tests to the entire crew during their time on board are increased from twice a month to a week (also added to the existing pre-shipment test and all health monitoring measures carried out)
- Increased frequency of on-board sanitation, particularly in public areas with high-volume contact areas
- Strengthening the definition of close contact for tracking purposes, reducing the time people are in contact from 15 to 10 minutes.
The health and hygiene protocol of MSC Cruises was designed from the beginning to adapt to the evolution of the situation of the pandemic on the ground and to ensure the greatest possible protection for passengers, crew and communities visiting the ship. For this reason, these additional measures have been activated on the two ships of the company that are currently sailing.
In relation to the health situation on the ground and particularly because of the continued unavailability of most of the ports proposed on the itinerary, MSC Cruises has been forced to cancel MSC World Cruise 2021, which it planned to perform MSC Magnifica.. passengers will be personally contacted with reprogramming options.
