The Lake Garda in Italy hosted a new Eurocup 2020 meeting for the 29er youth class from 24 to 27 October. A race that was preceded a week earlier by the cancellation of the race of in Hyères just 24 hours before the start of the competition and already with the regatists on French soil. An appointment that Spain had a large fleet near the 10 ships.

In the Fraglia della Vela Riva, in Lake Garda, it was possible to celebrate the race in compliance with that yes, with the maximum and demanding health safety protocols established by the Italian government, forcing the club and organizing committee to a greater effort if it is possible to accommodate the 61 registered ships that met all the measures including the distance between ships of 1.5 meters.

On this occasion, Spain had only three ships, under the grympola of RCN Valencia and RCN Calpe.'Quicorras' Urios and Filippo Binetti, together with Sergi Soler, sailing for Valencia, and Stijn Gast and Sara and Isabel Momplet for Calpe.

The Italian meeting took place in 4 days under conditions of very cold and wind variable, typical in the area of Garda and which forced more demanding work to the regatites in terms of tactical decisions and to be more attentive to the many wind roles that occur. 11 of the 14 planned tests were completed.

Good performance of the Spanish fleet in general lines, highlighting the tandem formed by 'Quicorras' Urios and Filippo Binetti, the latter recovered already from his injury in the left hand and which was operated a few days before the national of the class in Valencia. The regularity was key to achieving that 4th place, always remaining at the top in each of the 11 tests, highlighting as best partial a second and a third.

The Valencian couple concluded with 53 points, after applying 2 discards, to only 4 points of podium that was configured with the triumph of the Maltese Richard Schultheis and Max Körner (23 sts.), followed by the French Le Goff Tangi and Bertin Youenn (32 sts.) and the Slovaks Rok Verderber and Daniel Cante (49 sts.).

Sergi Soler and Stijn Gast, on the other hand, concluded in a bright 13th square by highlighting in their locker a 5th square by adding 116 points, while the Momplet women's tandem, being their third test in the Eurocup since they got to the 29th in 2019, achieved a 38th square by highlighting a 12th place achieved in the 4th test of the championship, developed under conditions not favorable to them.
