During the months of quarantine the Iona began its sea tests in the North Sea

The international shipyards seem to be fully operational and continue to launch ships of great importance... is the case of the German Meyer Werft... who has delivered the Iona to the P & O Cruises, which so far is the largest in its fleet and the largest built for the British market.

Displacing 185,000 tons, with spectacular measurements... 345 meters long and 17 covered for 5,200 passengers, is also the largest in the UK, Iona is the first British cruise powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Paul Ludlow, President of the P & O commented "Iona is now officially part of the fleet of P & O Cruises and we are focused on preparing it to receive passengers during its new inaugural season in northern Europe, Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands from our base port of Southampton."

Iona is the first of the two new ships for P & O Cruises commissioned so far, to the German shipyard... among the unique features that we can find on board are the SkyDome... this space with its glass vaulted roof and its spacious distribution flooded with natural light offer unparalleled and relaxing views of the surrounding sky and sea. Become a relaxing pool space during the day with meals, it becomes an entertainment area at night, which includes impressive air shows under the stars. As a novelty the Iona will manufacture its own gin on board as it has one (and the first on a boat) artisanal gin distillery. It also has eight specialty restaurants that include concepts not yet revealed, as well as 13 entertainment places, four swimming pools that include an infinite swimming pool in the boat's stern and 16 hot tub.
