Nautico de Vigo and Escuela Naval de Marín, have sent the following communication to the media a few minutes ago

The Royal Nautical Club of Vigo and the Marin Military Naval School, organizers of the XVIII Guardian Regata, have decided to suspend the competition, scheduled for this weekend, due to the adverse weather conditions announced for this Saturday. The race will be held in the near future and will maintain the two planned tests, the first with departure from Marin to Vigo and the second for the Ria de Vigo.

The Guardian Regatta, born in 1993 by agreement between the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo and the Marin Military Naval School, returns this weekend... with changes in its program, a fleet expected from a twenty units... that choose to be made with the replica that the Navy has put into play in various races in the last season and the current one, of a comemoritive pieza- trophy of the centenary of the World of Magellans and Elcano.

The fleet will make a first tour between Marin and Vigo this Saturday, leaving at 12: 30, while on Sunday at the edge of 11: 00, it is chosen not to make the traditional return to Marin, being replaced by a coastal race in the Viguese ría.
