The 470 Olympic Team with the 420 of the Abra Maritime

The President of the Light Sailing Trophy, organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, coincided in its development, in this strange 2020, with an Olympic training. From the Directorate of Physical Activity and Sport, together with the heads of Health and Education Departments, no competition is envisaged in those born in 2007 and later, so the categories Optimist and FEVA did not come into being as years ago due to the health crisis. After the tests, after a final day with unstable wind, the class 420 Gabriel Oraá and Nacho García-Santamarina (4 points), with Macarena Urrutia and Marta Casares (8 points), in the second position, and Nerea Álvarez and Arrieta Angueira (9 points) in the third square. Already in Snipe, Peru and Joana Abasola won, with three first positions, ahead of Rafael Martínez de Bourio and Mikel Vega, and Manolo and Tanis Rey-Baltar, who completed the podium.

At the same time as the light sailing tours were held, the Gipuzcoan regatist Iker Martínez of Lizardy, a double Olympic medalist (gold in Athens 2004 and silver in Beijing 2008), was also this weekend at the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, where he gave a training of Match Race in the J80 class to the Spanish Olympic team of 470, composed of Catalan Jordi Xammar and the Galician Nicolás Rodríguez. They carried out this activity together with some regatists of the School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte, Nicolás Viar and Tomás Trueba, and with Ramón Zubiaga, patron of the 'Mandovi', and José Azqueta of the 'Biobizz'.
