The initiative of these tasks of extraction of the underwater waste came from the Association of the Table Pola Ria of Pontevedra, Asnauga and the Nautical Clubs of the Ria of Pontevedra

On Saturday a day of environmental activity will take place consisting of the realization of underwater cleaning in the surroundings of the Port of Aguete for which an invitation is made to divers and staff of the land volunteers to participate in it.

The concentration of participants will take place at 9 a.m. on the said day for divers, when the corresponding documentation of the participants will be collected. "Land" volunteers must also be present at 10: 00 in the morning. In both cases, the number of participants is limited due to the Covid-19 problem and all of them must be registered prior to that date.

The following documentation shall be submitted before the start of the event by the participating divers: To be in possession of the divers' title; to provide the DNI number: to present the Diving License / Insurance, in force; to have discompression buoy for both members of the participating couple and to be aware of the strict punctuality observance since, once the dive has started, the entry of more divers will not be allowed.

In the case of ground volunteers, they must be of age or minors accompanied by their parents or guardians, providing the DNI, necessary for the Civil Liability Insurance, and mobile number, to facilitate their location... registration, in all cases, must be referred to administration @ rcmaguete.com or also to asnauga @ gmail.com before 8 October.

10: 00. Reception of ground volunteers and distribution of groups to the various cleaning areas
12: 30. Completion of the immersion, extraction of the underwater waste and collection at the port for classification, counting and statistics, and recovery of the living organisms that are collected together with the waste

This action is part of the project "Limpa a tora," which is a beneficiary of the Social Plan of Ence in Pontevedra, which aims to educate all the neighbours of the municipalities around the Pontevedra River in the environmental field, raising awareness of the importance of the care of the environment and also helping to clean it up.

The campaign began last September 27 at the Portonovo marina and will continue this October, with the following performances: this Saturday day 10 in Aguete; Commando on Sunday 18 October and in Beluso on Sunday 25 October, so everyone is encouraged to participate in these events, which contribute to improving the marine environment.
