The palists of the Kayak Tudense Albert Martí and Roi Rodríguez have certified the potential of this ship in the most important international event of the season by imposing on the K2 of the Asturians Pelayo Roza and Pedro Vázquez, the world subchampions of the test they had already overcome in the national selective three weeks ago.

The Spanish selection of pyragüismo has today debuted at the 2020 World Cup, achieving the silver medal in paracanoe, with the second place of the Extremean Juan Valle in KL3, and classifying nine boats in esprint for the final A of the competition, which brings together about 400 athletes from 26 countries on a quote marked by the anti-moronavirus measures.

The Spanish selection of Pyragüismo, composed of 27 palists from 11 autonomous communities, is already being trained in the Hungarian town of Szeged, where this weekend the Esprint and Paracanoe 2020 World Cup, the only international competition of calm waters that is held in the international calendar after the Covid-19, the pandemic that has forced the national delegation to prove negative evidence of PCR to enter the country of Magiar.

Due to the coronavirus, the international event will be held without a public, from Friday to Sunday, in the Szeged race field, considered the meca of the pyragüismo, which will present a completely different atmosphere than usual, the last in the World Cup of the past when it brought together more than 30,000 spectators in five days, in which Spain won 7 medals, with the extra prize of the classification of four boats for the Tokyo JOO in the form of esprint and two others in paracanoe.

With about 400 palists from 26 countries, the World Cup 2020 will present significant absences in the participation of a good number of nations, although they are registered Olympic medalists returning to Szeged, where also do the Spaniards who just a year ago went up to the podium in the World Cup: Paco Cubelos and Iñigo Peña as well as Pelayo Roza and Pedro Vázquez, current world subchampions of K2 1,000 and 500 meters, respectively, and Sete Benavides along with Toni Segura, bronze medal in C2 500.
