The Arousano Jacobo García, the Coruños Toni Ripoll and Miguel Fernández Vasco, the Vigués Julio Rodríguez Vázquez and the Orensano Alvaro Montes, have been named Comodoros de Honor de la Semana Abanca 2020 in recognition of their recent sports successes, and for their support to the multinational event concerning the national level that organize clubs throughout Galicia with the Lucense Francisco García de Bobadilla as president of the Organizing Committee, as well as the federations of sailing, nautical skiing, rowing and pyragüism.

The regatists of 420 Jacobo García and Toni Ripoll are considered at the highest level in their international category, not in vain they carry a trajectory in the even include world and continental awards... to which have added last week the absolute Spanish champions, title achieved in the waters of the bay of Cadiz. Last year another couple of 420 were appointed in this post with a tremendous trajectory: Wizner and Ameneiro.

García and Ripoll will be honored in the Trophy Concello de Vigo de Vela Ligera that is celebrated this weekend in the waters of the Viguesa ría, by the hand of the Club Marítimo de Canido; competition in which they start as favorites.

To talk about the Finnish Olympic class at the Galician level is to do it of the Herculine Miguel Fernández Vasco, who has two national titles, and numerous awards. This year the Finn Spanish Championship will be held in Coruñese waters, within the Abanca Week, and Vasco has options to achieve a new title for its club, the Real Club Nautico de La Coruña.

In nautical skiing the Orensian master Alvaro Montes del Dumies, champion of Spain of Figuras, was elected; he achieved last week in Barra de Miño win the Regata Abanca, with the Spanish Cup at stake. By 2019 this recognition had been for the Spanish champion Viguesa Sub21 and absolute subchampion Silvia Pino.

It closes the chapter of distinctions to one of the most representative shipowners, with a long history in heavy sail... we are talking about Julio Rodríguez Vázquez, who was already many years ago part of the crew of the half ton Starligth "Galerna." This year he has consented with his new Swan 42 "Magic" two important victories: Count of Gondomar and Prince of Asturias Trophy, both in Baiona... and is the great favorite for the Villa de Bouzas Trophy that he organizes within Abanca Week, the vicedecan of the Galician nautical: the Bouzas Maritime Liceo.
