The high-rise time on the Gaditan coast has prevented the holding of any tests on the second and last day of the Cup of Andalusia of Snipe, the anniversary Trophy of the Snipe Fleet of Cadiz, which has gathered this weekend in Gaditan waters to more than thirty crews.

Thus, the race is resolved with the only test that could be disputed on Saturday under strong rising winds and the autonomous cup is given validity, which wins the crew formed by Ángel Carlos Ballesteros Martínez of the Chamber and Ángel Ballesteros Jiménez with the flag of Motril.

Both hold the third absolute position behind the crews of José María Guerro and Juan Luis Granados (RCN de Motril / RCN de Valencia), champions of the Anniversary Trophy, and the one formed by Martín Bermudez and Eugenia Vanni with a shared flag between the Real Nautical Club of Madrid and the Real Nautical Club of Valencia, seconds.

The autonomous podium is completed by Juan Castañeda and Pablo Alcina (Commission Naval de Regatas de Cadiz / Flea Snipe de Cadiz) and the crew of Alfosno Díaz Canel and Antonio Martín, of the Flea Snipe de Cadiz.

The race, organized by the Snipe Cadiz Fleet in collaboration with the Andalusian Vela Federation and the Royal Nautical Club of Cadiz, reunites 40 snipes

Today the first edition of the First Anniversary of the Snipe class begins today, organized by the Snipe Fleet of Cadiz to celebrate the twentieth birthday of the Gaditana entity... the event will bring together in the bay some of the first swords of the snipe in Spain, and will be, in addition to the Cup of Andalusia, remarkable for the national circuit of the class.

The Snipe Class always enjoyed great implantation in the bay of Cadiz, especially in the 1970s and 1980s, where illustrious names such as Ituri, Larrañaga, Flethes, Vierna, Castañeda or Parga filled the vitrines with triumphs. Years later it almost disappeared until at the beginning of this century the heirs of those pioneers decided to take over and reconstruct that fleet that so many joys had given.

The Anniversary Trophy was born with the aim of commemorating twenty years since that refoundation and establishing a fixed quote within the annual calendar of the snipes in Spain... to this end, it has been achieved that it is a testable test for the National Circuit of the Class, which brings together the main races within our coast, being also the cup of Andalusia.

Among the visitors are the crews of Martín Bermudez and Angela Pumariega (Olympic gold in London 2012), José Luis Maldonado or Ángel Ballesteros, or the local Juan Castañeda, David Blanco or the Oses brothers. In addition, harsh conditions are expected, with a strong south-east wind forecast throughout the weekend.
