Spanish Cup of Nautical Skiing and Wakesurf Abanca Week arrives in Ourense
Second event of the Abanca Week with the Spanish Cup of Nautical Skiing and Wakesurf on stage... will be in the beautiful Concello de Coles, very close to the capital Orensana, in the Tenada of Barra de Miño that has conditions for this splendid sport. In a high level competition with raiders from Spain, Belgium and Portugal, among which are the three Gallegos champions of Spain from the Nautical Skiing: the Orensano Alvaro Montes, the Viguesa Silvia Pino and the Vigués Andrés Araya.
It'll be two days. On Saturday it will compete from three to seven in the afternoon, and on Sunday only in the morning, beginning at the edge of nine in the morning, the closing ceremony is scheduled in "El Gadaffi" at two in the afternoon.
The competition that bears the name of the Xunta Trophy of Galicia has aroused a great expectation, motivated by the fact that it is the first time that the "wakesurf" has an official competition in our country... to which the "thirst" of events is joined, in this year so unique by the pandemic we are suffering.
It will compete in the categories "minislalom," "slalom" (sub14, sub21, open and senior), "figures" and "wakesurf," with a participation of more than seventy Riders, with equal numbers of male and female athletes.
The participation of Alvaro Montes, who will compete for the Dumies of Ourense, Silvia Pita of the San Telmo of Tui, as well as the Riders of Arcade: Pablo and Hugo Puentes and Martina Senra, who are having a spectacular progression.
It is also necessary for the club to quote Antonio Pascual, who at only 14 years old, is the sixth theorist of the Galician ranking and second real at the absolute level. Jaime Fernández is another of the young values that will compete in the Miño, is the most prominent rider in Arzúa.
On the part of the "armada" Madrid stands out Grandjean del Alarcón de Valdemorillos and on the part of Castilla-León Paco Fernández that competes for the Club Náutico de León.
In wakesurf the great favorites will be the Belgians Thomas and Simon Christiaens. On the Spanish side his greatest rival will be the Spanish champion Andrés Araya who has two European titles in the specialty of "wakeboard."
