After San Francisco and New York Plymouth confirmed as Sail GP headquarters 2021

After the decisions of the American headquarters (east and west), and the British one... the French, the Danish... and the Spanish one are subtracted for uncovering.
Plymouth, the so-called "City of the Ocean" of Britain, has been selected to host the European debut of the second season of SailGP in 2021. After the San Francisco events in April and New York in June, the championship will return to the UK coast on July 17 and 18 to host the third event of the second season.
Famous for its maritime history and being the next seat of the first British marine park, Plymouth is located in the historic Devon County, on the south-west coast of England. The event, which will face the teams of nations in Plymouth Bay, will be supported by Plymouth City Council, Associated British Ports, English Cities Fund and Sutton Harbour Group. The Plymouth SailGP will also be part of the celebrations of the 400 Anniversary of the emblematic ocean journey to the Mayflower America. Plymouth was selected as its headquarters after a six-month tendering process in which five other cities in the United Kingdom participated.
The event in British waters of the first season of SailGP - witnessed by 24,000 fans, with an economic impact of 24 million dollars, reaching a global audience of 231 million - offered some of the most dramatic scenes of the championship. In the face of crowds, the American team played a spectacular role and, both Britain and Australia, made history eclipsing the public with speeds never seen in the sailing sport. It is expected that Plymouth, recognized as a key to this sport, will offer an exciting competition that viewers can enjoy from the water or from the coast.
A novelty for British fans this second season will be the addition of the New Zealand team to the impressive cast of world-class regatists. Among the stars of the league is the most successful Olympic regatist of all time, Sir Ben Ainslie, who will certainly offer a great show for the fans of the British team.
