The first race of the day was for Muscat and Cardona. Under intense rain and with five knots of wind, Muscat, the leader until the time of the fleet, left the race after being twice warned by the judges, which led him to fall to the seventh place on the table. Cardona gave us one of his master sailing lessons and crossed the third line of arrival, which augmented him to the third step of the provisional podium.
Far away was the head trio in those moments for which he had stood in front of the board for two days, but good navigation and the unpredictable of the race field for all made a fifth place return Muscat to the head trio, while an 18th represented the setback that went down to Cardona to the fifth position.
With the Hungarian Zsombor Berecz who claims his second place in the World Ranking and a good day with a 4-3 to rise as a new leader, the gold medal in Rio 2016 and advocate of the absolute European title Giles Scott is going to lag behind with only three points of difference.
