Three thousand nautical athletes of pyragüism, sailing, rowing and nautical skiing will compete this year in the Abanca Week from September 5 to November 29, with the Vigo (with six events), La Coruña and Marín (with three) and Sada as well as Barra de Miño in Ourense that will organize one. The macro-nautical event considered at the national level, as the most important multi-sport framework in the country, was presented at the Viguese facilities of the ETEA, an event that has been held since 2000... earlier under the names of Caixanova and Novagalicia Banco and now that of Abanca.

A presentation of the expected Abanca Week, which had the presence of José Ramón Lete, secretary of sports of the Galician executive, and in which the presence of Abel Caballero was planned... but a last-minute agenda problem prevented him from being, with Manel Fernández being the sports councilman who represented him.

On the part of the Organizing Committee of the Week was its vice-president, the Herculino Enrique Tostado, who is the president of the Nautical Club of Sada, and by Abanca Walter Alvarez. As a representative of the numerous sponsors, Pablo Louro was present executive of Gadisa, while the naval engineer who was most responsible for the design of the Copa América de España twice spoke on behalf of the federations of rowing, pyragüism, sailing and nautical skiing... while Javier Herrera as president of the Olívico of Piragüismo did so on behalf of the organizing clubs of this macro event.

Vigo will have six piragüism and sailing competitions, which bear the name of Trophy Concello de Vigo, with the particularity that for the first time in the history of piragüism in the Ria de Vigo, the World Federation has granted the rank of "international" to one of its tests: that of Kayak de Mar, in which about 300 palists will participate representing 37 clubs from all over Spain, which will be the test that will rise to the curtain this Saturday of the Abanca Week.

It completes the programming of the Pyragüism the second quote, also on the track of the ETEA of "quiet waters," which also bears the name of Concello de Vigo. The figures are 600 young athletes from a dozen clubs. These two appointments are organized by the Olívico Piragüismo Club and the Vigo Maritime Club.

In sailing it will compete in 420, vaurien and laser (Marítimo de Canido) and in J80, solitaires, cruises ORC (Liceo de Bouzas). In Barra de Miño in the province of Ourense, the Miño River will be the track on which the Spanish Cup of Nautical Skiing and Wakesurf, with raiders from several countries, will be held on 12 and 13 September

In the river of Pontevedra, two ports will live the Abanca Week: first Comarto with the Villalia Spanish Championship of J70 in which they have confirmed many of the best patterns and crew of the Spanish and Portuguese sailing... with 30 units that will represent the whole country. And then the Remo Ence competitions in Marin: traditional rowing, ergometer rowing and the traditional Gala del Remo Concello de Marin.

Finally in La Coruña three very strong dates: the National Olympic Class Finn The English Court, the 420 Gadis Galician Championship and the Optimist Vanguard Meeting in honor of the unforgettable president of the La Coruña Nautico: Aurelio Fernández Lage.

Complete the long list of events the Divine Regata Rei that organizes the Nautical Club of Sada, which will be the race with the greatest participation of the season in Galicia, after the Sea of Maeloc Rías Baixas.

The organizers will put in place the most demanding health controls, ranging from permanent disinfections, to the selective collection of waste that Ecoembes will carry out or the temperature control that will be carried out by the hand of the leading company of this sector, which has installed in the ETEA a mini tower built in Bergondo (La Coruña), 3iC technology, which will surely arouse the interest of the athletes, also of its effectiveness: the sportsman will have to approach a screen... if he sees his virtual glasses green all ok... if it is red: alert.
