Elections to the Catalan de Vela: loses Turró Torres renews mandate
The 60 clubs that were on the census had the key to the elections to the Federació Catalana de Vela and on September 1 they chose to continue giving their vote to Xavier Torres who took 39 votes for 31 Jesus Turró. In this vote too, the 15 of the stations (athletes, technicians and judges), which had been previously elected on 22 August, have done so.
It has been a very intense election in which there have been many ups and downs. Although short in time - just one month - if we compare them to those of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation - which last almost three months - they have not been exempt from controversy due to numerous irregularities in the census, especially of athletes and clubs, which in part resolved, in the face of such evidence, the Electoral Board and on the other hand, they washed their hands.
What is clear is that the Catalan candle is divided in two, with the divided clubs, but above all with the sports part dissatisfied with the situation, according to the initial results (13-2). In the end, there have been 8 votes of difference between those favorable to Torres and those favorable to Turró. A wide or small difference depending on the glass you look at.
Torres has chosen a more political board of directors, based mostly on club presidents and directors and Turró preferred a more sporting board of directors, mostly made up of sailing people. This is the big difference between each other. Both are certainly legitimate, and as always, for each one to draw his own conclusions. And I hope no one gets mad at me for saying this.
