The GS1, by Fernando Alonso, the absolute winner of the first edition of the Aproches Regata of the Real Club Astur of Regatas... the Wanted, by Ricardo Simal was the best in class II, while the Ita II, by Pedro Guerra won in class III.
During the last weekend the first edition of the Aproches Regata was held, composed of two coastal stages by the Asturian coast. The first test was held on Friday under a round trip between Gijón and Lastres of approximately 40 miles. The second race was held on Sunday on this occasion the fleet turned west to turn a beacon located in the vicinity of Luanco to return to Gijón, starting point.
In the Friday stage the wind blew moderate and with the sea in good condition, therefore, excellent conditions for a coastal race. On Sunday the intensity of the wind was lower, having to delay the output by half an hour, until the anemometer marked the 6 knots to begin the test.
In class I, the Geiser, patronized by Fernando Alonso, was imposed in the two races, winning the class and the absolute general of the test, The second square was for the avilesine boat Bullbox, by Luis Noguera, which would also occupy the second position in the joint general. The Orbayu II, by Miguel Suárez, would complete the podium posts of the class.
The Wanted, by Ricardo Simal made a magnificent Regata, was imposed in class II, when he won in the two sleeves, occupying the third place in the general classification of the test. The second position would be for the Mambo, by José Enrique García Rivero, who would cross the line of arrival in second position in the two contested races. The third position was held by the Mulgari, Josu Jiménez.
The Ita II of Pedro Guerra was the fastest in the two races in class III, and therefore, the first of his group. Second with a third and a second in his locker was the Silfo, by José Luis García, tied to points with the Leonidas, by Juan Quevedo third in the class general.
