In the absence of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Baixas, which will be officially presented on Monday at the facilities of the Real Club Nautico de Vigo, the Eman 37 "Bosch Service Solutions" by Ramón Ojea of the Club Marítimo de Canido, is the leading leader of the Great Trophy Mar de Maeloc, which awards the general of the three notable races: Rías Altas, Finisterre and Rías Baixas, of the cruises that are listed in classes 0, 1, 2 and 3; which are the most competitive and major of the ships.
The ship of Canido with a super young crew (between 17 and 19 years old) made up of young promises of the Galician candle, is counting on two veterans only: Ojea and Chuny... it has the lead thanks to its victory in the High Rias and the third place in the Finisterre (which for score purposes is a second as the J80 "Atlantic 3D Printing" being of Class 4 does not enter for the purposes of the Great Trophy).
After the "boat of the Canterans" is located the J108 arosano "Bodegas Benito Santos" that has Jorge Etcheverría as a cane and competes for the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña, being the third in discord the Hanse 400 de Cabanas, of the Club Marítimo La Penela with the vigués Carlos Sampedro Curbera a la cane. It completes the group of favorites, the Baltic 56 by José Quintero, thanks to his victory in the Finisterre.
These ships have confirmed their presence in the "Rías Baixas," like "Cachete," "Alma do Mar" and "Lambaix..." a Regata that this year will be held in four days, with headquarters in Vigo, Combarro-Poio and A Pobra do Caramiñal, in the northern part of the Arousa Ria, in the province of La Coruña, with about 70 ships in a race.
The Grand Trophy Mar de Maeloc has been established this year for the first time, and has the particularity that the depositaries until 2021, will be one of the two organizing clubs.
If the winning ship belongs to a club with its headquarters south of the legendary Cape Finisterre will be the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo... if on the contrary it is one north of that promontory... the trophy will be exposed until the next edition at the Real Nautical Club of La Coruña.
