The Salvamar Enif, built in the shipyards of Naval Assistant of the Principality, has been an investment of 2.1 million euros

Salvamento Marítimo, under the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, has incorporated a new vessel, the Salvamar Enif, which from its base port in Barbate operates in the Strait of Gibraltar and the Gulf of Cadiz.

This ship replaces the Salvamar Gadir, who has worked hard for years from the Barbateño port by rescuing thousands of people.

His name, Enif, is due to the brightest star of Pegasus's constellation. Most of the 55 Salvamares with which Salvamento Marítimo has been distributed on the Spanish coast have star names.

The salvamars are the most versatile units of our fleet due to their high speed, high maneuverability and low quality, appropriate to act in circumstances in which the speed of response plays a fundamental role. They reach speeds above 30 knots and are built in aluminium and with low edge, which makes them appropriate to collect water shipwrecks, as well as to provide trailers and assistance. They intervene in most of the emergencies attended by Salvamento Marítimo thanks to its rapid response and versatility. The new Salvamar Enif is 21.50 meters long and 5.5 meters manga, with a maximum speed of 40 knots and 400 nautical miles of autonomy, with 2 MAN 029 Kw., a medium-load displacement of 39 tons, a fixed-point power of 6 tons and a fuel capacity of 4,800 litres.
