The Spanish Championship 2020 already has its new champions, in a race that has been very different by all the protocols and security measures being one of the most outstanding notes in the Puerto Deportivo Juan Montiel. The national meeting is closed with two tests completed with a wind of 10-11 knots on a 100º axis (E-East) and with changes in podium positions, especially in male category SU16.

The Náutico-Deportiva Juan Montiel Association is already ready for the official start of the Spain Optimist 2020 and the National Championship for Autonomy Teams. After two intense days of material control and measurements, the official gunshot is given to the two national citations. The first one will have 4 days of competition, with the individual title in play: individual (29 and 30 July and 1 and 2 August), while the Team Championship of Autonomy will be held on Friday, 31 July.
Two days have been marked by the strong heat and security measures in all access controls in the areas enabled for the regatists and only authorized personnel have access.
All the regatists, after entering the established area, are taken to their temperature. From that moment and until the end of the day the regatists remain in the area where their boat and material are located, although they can leave, but then they must recomply with all the safety and health protocols, taking of temperature, hand and material hygiens.
After the registration section is officially closed, the national of Águilas is presented with 139 regatists from 9 Autonomous Communities: Catalonia, Canary Islands, Euskadi, Community of Madrid, Andalusia, Galicia, Baleares, Comunitat Valenciana and Region of Murcia.

The Optimist 2020 Spanish Championship officially closes registration with about 150 regatists from 11 autonomous communities. The event, organized by the Nautico Deportiva Juan Montiel Association, will host this race that is going to be something special and different between June 27 and August 2, in which also the national title by Equipos de Autonomías will be at stake.
A quote that will take place under strict security measures. All regatists must sign the document to the specific rules of the Pandemia, in which they will be subject to daily control of the body temperature at the entrance of the facilities and on all occasions required. The use of masks, as well as ensuring respect for the minimum safety distance of 1.5 meters, will be mandatory in all facilities and by all: regatists, coaches, parents, technical staff...
Two exit ramps have been established, one in the Poniente area and the other in the Levante area. Each regatist must use the same for which he went out to go to the race field. Also in hotel facilities there will be special measures with shifts to keep the distance and avoid agglomerations. No regatist or support staff can share any material. Nor can they share drinks, food, etc.
On the sports level, the territorial areas of Catalonia, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and the Comunitat Valenciana are the ones that contribute the most to the two national citations, with 20 optimists each. Galicia, for its part, arrives in Eagles with 18 regatists, while the host: Murcia, is present with 13. The Vasca federation will have 7 representatives, while the cantabra will do it with 6 and Navarra and Madrid with 3 respectively.

The Spanish Optimist Championship, and also the national one for Autonomy Teams, is already a reality. Today, at the Puerto Deportivo Juan Montiel, the site of the tests, has been the official presentation and the end of the race that will be launched on July 27, ending on August 2.
It is the first race of this type and national in scope after the 'new normalcy', and it has not been easy to move it forward.
