The Okofen, armed by the prominent Viguese regatist Javier de la Gandara, stood up this weekend in Baiona del Trofeo Comunica, with which the Mount Real Club of Yates was finally able to close the J80 League that had to be suspended last March due to the state of alarm caused by the pandemic.
After having won the Galician A Two Cruise Championship a few days ago and reaching the final as a clear candidate for the title, the Okofen did not let down. With Javier de la Gandara leading the team, the regular crew he joined on this last day Manuel María Cunha, signed two first positions in the two contested trials and sentenced the championship.
With 13 points he achieved the gold of the Community Trophy, leaving for Alboroto de Juan Carlos Ameneiro, who finished with 28 points, the silver medal... the Cansino de Fernando Yáñez, who arrived third to the final, could not consolidate that third position, and finally was taken away by the Maija de José Luis Pérez, with 40 points. The men of Yáñez, with 42 points, remained at the doors of the podium, with a meritorious fourth position.
