Luxury end in the river of Vigo... in the inner area that bathes Redondela and south of the island of San Simón... because the thermal wind has come to your meeting and the KiteFest Cesantes has been able to close its third edition with conditions perfect for the practice of kitesurf.
At the edge of the one and a half of Sunday, with conditions of about 25 knots stable, the Regatas Committee was able to make the run for two race tests in which more than 70 Riders were in competition.
In the Foil category, David González Mariño was the winner of the meeting organized by the TMKiteClub and the Concello de Redondela with the sponsorship of the Xunta de Galicia. With a first and a second score, Mariño managed to win with two points of advantage over the second one, Mario Martínez. From behind, the third place was held by Andrés Douglas.
For his part in the surf category, Spanish Strapless champion David Marín (Eleveight) was the great winner of the day with two brilliant wins in the two contested trials, taking the title ahead of Ruben Cano and Ramón Mantilla, second and third respectively.
In twenty, round day also for Rubén Martínez, who scored two first positions and became the winner with five points of advantage over Pedro de Castro, who was second, and eight over Julio Francisco Fernández, who finished fourth.
Another of the categories that participated in this third edition of the KiteFest was that of amateurs, in which unfederated riders of all categories met. The victory in this division was for Antonio Fernández Veloso ahead of Alberto Martínez and Sergio Lozano.
In the absolute male and female general, which awarded the best classified without differentiating categories according to the type of table, the winners were again the Spanish Strapless champion David Marín in the male and Camila Blaide in the female.
Once the race was over, the fleet returned to the beach to give way to one of the most expected moments of the event: the exhibition. First-level national and international Riders gave a whole show in front of the beach of Cesantes with their best tricks, jumps and maneuvers. Ruben Cano, a North Kiteboarding rider, was the one who took the victory in strapless after imposing the best trick on his competitors in front of the judges. In freestyle, for its part, the triumph was for the president of the TMKiteClub Justo Fernández Voena, while in big air the highest jump was offered by Antonio Fernández Beloso.

The third edition of the KiteFest, organized by the TMKiteClub and the Concello de Redondela, has been launched in Cesantes with the sponsorship of the Xunta de Galicia. Although the low wind that has blown today in Cesantes has forced the organization to postpone the tests to tomorrow, the participants have been able to enjoy two luxury Master Class with some of the most important Riders at the national and international levels: the Spanish champion of Strapress David Marín; the Portuguese Nuno "Stru" Figueiredo, the first rider to surf a giant wave of up to 19 meters in Nazaré; Ruben Cano, one of the usual podium of the Spain Kiteboarding League, and Dani Jiménez, the head of the international league (Gurf).
In the early morning the participants began to reach the beach of Cesantes to collect their dorsal and prepare the material for the first day of race. The wind, which was not finished entering the St. Simon's inlet, forced the participants to wait on the ground until finally, after 17: 00 hours, the organization made the decision to postpone the tests to tomorrow Sunday... the lack of evidence, however, has not prevented participants and the general public from enjoying the ground environment to the maximum.
Although the wind has not blown today with enough force to allow the fleet to premiere in the race field, it all points out that the conditions will allow tomorrow the Committee of Regates to make the run for at least two tests in regatta format before the expected exhibition of freestyle. After the talks scheduled for 10: 00 and 11: 00 hours with Felipe Moure (Airush) and Tiago Rocha and once the briefing with the participants is over, the fleet will start to get out into the water as soon as the wind has started and the conditions are right to enjoy the kitesurf show. The first test is scheduled for 13: 00.
