The annual assembly of the Federation of Madrid de Vela was held... an assembly that has developed later than normal given the state of alarm produced by the Covid19, although that is, under the same positive lines of recent years by the Assemblyists with the aim of maintaining that path of growth of the Federation, both in the economic, sports and social part.

On the various points to be addressed the most complicated seemed to be the economic one, although once again the management of the Board of Directors gave that vote of confidence to the Assemblies, who approved the 2019 accounts and the 2020 budgets. "The assembly approved the 2019 accounts and gave its approval for the 2020 budgets. In general we can say that we have managed to square the numbers quite well and we hope to reach the targets set for this year. In this regard, in the economic, we can say that we are all satisfied with how 2019 has gone and the balance achieved", Poyan explained at the end of the Assembly.

As for the sports section, the results obtained in 2019 have been very positive, mainly in Vela Ligera where good results have been achieved, obtaining podium in one of the main races, not only of inland waters, but also in several points of the Spanish geography.

After that, and given the exceptional situation created by the Covid19, the timetable provided for both in autonomous, national and international races in the waters of the Community of Madrid, was presented the modified and approved calendar by the Directorate General of Sport for the coming months. In this regard, the president said: "The assembly unanimously approved the 2020 calendar, not only in terms of regional competitions, school activities or Madrid Azul in the Madrid Community, but also at national and international level. In spite of this we have managed to have a very long timetable by the end of the year"

It will be, for the time being, the last Assembly presided over for Guillermo Poyán, since the electoral process is soon being initiated for the presidency of the Federation Madricala de Vela and to which Poyán has already officially made known that it is presented to the relection... n case of his candidacy, Poyán would face his third term at the head of the sail of the Community of Madrid with the sole aim of closing the two remaining issues in the Federation: the Centre of Vela and the total consolidation of the accounts, although everything will be known in the coming November.
