Company presentation of the Ria de Vigo Association of Nautical Entities: ARIVEN

The opening of the event, which was represented by the Board of Directors and numerous members of the Association, was carried out by Ruben Pérez, a vocal of ARIVEN and one of the founding partners. "ARIVEN is born with the need to create an organizational figure that brings together the entire value chain, in which working together for the strengthening and competitiveness of the sector... that is the key to our strength, as only working from the value chain and pooling common interests can contribute to the consolidation of a strong and competitive sector."
The leading Dársena Deportiva of the Harbour Authority of Vigo, has been the stage this morning of the public presentation of the Association Ria de Vigo of Nautical Entities.
ARIVEN was born in the middle of last year, driven and supported by the Harbour Authority of Vigo in the framework of the Blue Growth strategy, as a result of the demand of different public and private entities that intended to strengthen and position the marine sports sector as a reference of innovation and competitiveness, with a clear impact on the economy, the environment and the well-being of people.
The Association is made up of 25 partners today, including nautical clubs, schools and sports federations, marine operators, operators of maritime transport, tourism and leisure activities, sale of ships, shipyards, suppliers of nautical products and services, auxiliary companies, nautical formation entities and the Harbour Authority of Vigo itself. A meeting point with all the actors in the sector, open to the collaboration and establishment of alliances that ultimately lead to the sustainable development of the Ria de Vigo through nautical activity, as a source of employment and coexistence with the environment, which results in the improvement of the quality of life of the community.
Since its inception, the Association has focused on identifying the needs and challenges facing the sector, as well as actions to address them. The priority areas for work are training and employment, communication and trade promotion, in which work is done through working groups.
Among the actions carried out to date, the creation of a water sector-oriented employment exchange is operational and accessible on the Association's website. Progress has also been made in the design of an action plan to promote the marketing of joint products, or the holding of internal workshops in which to analyse the situation of the sector and the establishment of joint actions since the collaboration of the different segments of activity.
The event held this morning also served as a stage to present the "Blue Week..." an immersion event that has been working from ARIVEN almost since its birth and which, as a result of the State of Alarm, has had to be postponed and adapted to the new normality.
The organization of a programme of nautical activities has been announced... this is an initiative reused as "Blue Week, Mergoble with Us!," which will include a wide variety of activities with which to value the cultural, historical and environmental wealth of the Ria de Vigo linked to the nautical sector.
This initiative, which will continue until the end of June, is aimed at all stakeholders and especially at the younger... activities, including sea baptisms and the practice of sports such as piragüism, surfing, paddle surfing, windsurfing, kayak polo, rowing, light sailing, or other activities of a nautical nature, such as a catamaran route through the Ria de Vigo, among others.
