Galicia promotes with Britain the creation of the future Atlantic Nautical Cluster

The next European plenary for the establishment of the cluster will be held in February 2021 in French Britain in the framework of the actions provided for in the European Capiten project
The European Atlantic Nautics meet within the framework of the "Capiten" project to start the creation of the Atlantic Nautical Cluster, the main objective of the project.
This Monday they met in a virtual macroforum with over 40 representatives of the main regions (Brittany, Loira Country, Normandy, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Madeira Island, Northern Portugal, Central Portugal, Canary Islands and Galicia) and the most representative nautical entities in those territories.
The Galega Association of Nautical Activities AGAN + coordinated with the British Region the two Marathon working sessions to define the following areas of discussion for the future Atlantic Nautical Cluster:
- Geographical scope
- Type of partners
- Objectives Activities
Following input from each of the regions on these areas of discussion, the main agreements were:
- That the initial countries will be Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland and the United Kingdom for the interest shown at that meeting.
- That the founding partners are those that have been part of the Atlantic nautical network in this project CAPITEN, being AGAN + the only representative of Galicia.
- It will open for the incorporation of other entities from each of the initial territories. Therefore, from AGAN +, representatives of the Government of the Xunta de Galicia and of the Provincial Diputations were convened, with a representative of Tourism of Galicia and two representatives of the Diputación de Pontevedra. Other business associations in Galicia expressed their interest in being part of the future cluster such as Aprobur (Association of Sports Diving Professionals), Galician Association of Recreational Water Education, Buxa Association and nautical companies.
- To be detailed within the priority objectives of the activities to be developed by the cluster by creating an inventory of activities with its objectives.
