It is clear that from the time the Olympic Games were postponed one year, a fact that took place at the end of March, the CSD already warned the federations that such a postponement to 2021 would not influence the electoral processes to be held this year, it must have started the process of a new ministerial order in this regard, so that the elections will take place when it comes to the Olympic year - which is 2020 and not 2021.

The Spanish Olympic federations must start their electoral procedures in the coming months, as confirmed by the Higher Council of Sports, which on 7 May gave them the possibility to enable August as a working month or to facilitate telematics calls, thus the illusion that some presidents had that the elections were delayed to 2021 will be faded, including Julia Casanueva, who in an interview in ABC stated that: "The elections should be held after the Games."

According to the Iusport specialized portal, which is the most recognized in the matter "this Thursday, in view of the initial idea that each federation would ask the CSD for the authorization to hold the elections in August, the agency is working on a general formula, which is the logical thing, with which to enable all federations to use this month of the year, which, as is known, is not permitted by the ministerial order regulating the federal elections."

The Secretary of State for Sport, Irene Lozano, confirmed on Thursday that they are working on a reform of the above-mentioned ministerial order to incorporate this and some others, such as the possibility of meeting by video conference, logical changes given the health crisis and the postponement of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Lozano is very clear in an interview with Iusport: "There will be elections this year in all federations like football. Some federations in a minority way asked to delay it but it made no sense. We have allowed them to be able to hold the Assembly in a telematics way and to have the month of August be a good one. They have asked us to make them this year and from the CSD we will grant them to be able to celebrate."

In this way, it avoids moving the problem to the federations, which, in another case, would have to apply for exceptions to the CSD and, once authorized by its president, to incorporate them into its electoral regulations, which in turn would have to be approved by the delegated commissions of the federations and raised to the board of directors of the CSD for final approval, following the report of the TAD.
